I'd only known Q as a writing professor. In Fowey, they do Quiller-Couch justice as a novelist with a display in the small town museum and a whole bookcase of his works in this bookshop, Bookends of Fowey. As a place Fowey is excellent for literary tourists because the locals know their authors and there are other authors to discover if you walk up to the Fowey Hotel. The people in the museum explained where Q's old house sits on The Esplanade, it is a very easy walk and rewarding too. His former home, The Haven, is placed on the right of a slipway and jetty down into the estuary of the Fowey river just beside Whitehouse Beach. I wish the museum had a entry here too.
