Terrible place, really so nasty that I've never seen one anywhere. It's a shame that the second largest city in England has such a disgusting place. Service at the bar is poor but the worst are the guys who come there. Old, and the main guests are the bar staff, so the bar is frequented by people who work there. Disgusting loud laughter at the whole club is terrible. Never again. After leaving this place, my well-being was terrible
Nothing like the Old Boltz which was great The New Boltz is just a bar with dance area that was open New Year and small cruise area, as well as cinema room upstairs. I attended New Year, which was good and I did enoy it. Staff were friendly and drinks reasonably prices.
Was so much better at the old venue. I'm glad it reopened elsewhere but they need to invest on making a similar atmosphere and 'spaces' as before. It's laid out like a nightclub but people don't go to dance; also blue lights are horrible: bring back red lights, stand around bar, private themed rooms, authentic cottages and a proper maze... There is so much unused space, it's not expensive to do. I don't understand why they haven't .
Rude and sarcastic door staff. Very unwelcoming. £8 entry is very excessive for such a basic place. No card payments either. Look elsewhere
Just saw new year 2020 in this amazing club, so much fun to be had in here! The club was warm and very friendly, with cheap drinks. Easy access and somewhere to leave your bag and coat. The club has a varied clientele and was impressed by the facilities. Will defo be back here to enjoy the company of like minded guys. Very much a place to relax and enjoy life in. LOVED IT
I was surprised to read the negative reviews below; haven't been in a couple of years, but it was great to revisit and experience the vibe again. And, it is just as was. The bar staff were exceptional. It was good old-fashioned pub staff engagement, professional, engaging, friendly and fun. The clientele, again, were hugely chatty and included everyone in the banter. The regulars clearly have a rapport and get along well - again good old fashioned teasing, leggier-pulling & camaraderie. There are darkrooms and all but there's no pressure to use these - just enjoy the good old British pub community spirit, which is at its very best here. That's guys.
Enough is enough cheap drinks does not a club/Bar make ! This place has only 3 seats that are ready for a skip., and it's rank. Drinks limited and ill kept. Staff are a nightmare. Only regular bar staff is riffy picking scabs while pouring pints, working off his debt with owner. Overheard him saying so in his totally annoying northern accent also he's a tenant one of owner properties so cheap labour. Totally fed up with hearing from him what a brilliant bar manager he is. What a joke. Been using this place for years but over past 2 years gone down hill fast. Last year froze for most of winter as owner too tight to put heating on with a feeble excuse that they couldn't get a spare part for heating system. So why couldn't substitute heating have been found in interim while part sourced. Couple of years ago owner stated he was going to spend money doing place up, that never happened. Time it was either sold, closed or both. Not just bad TERRIBLE.
Beautiful place. Always pleasant music, a peculiar atmosphere and friendly waiters and bartenders There is a little trick to get a free cocktail and a separate room for 2 hours, you need to register for 909gay,com and give the bartender a profile number. The drain should work
The place is an excellent way to relax and be yourself. The lit corridors, staff and atmosphere make the place. The dark side of the moon as Pink Floyd put it. Not everybody's cup of tea but sometimes you need a strong coffee.
If you like loud music and flashing laser lights then it's great but not that a lot of dancing goes on. Loads of people come here to chat and I don't see how loud music and laser lights help. The toilets are disgusting and always puddles of water on the floor. Claims of it being a fetish club is exaggerated as hardly anyone bothers at their special events anymore except for the naked nights.
