On the whole we had a great evening on the row and dine deal. It was a really romantic date night, but I'm going to give an honest review. Staff were slow to acknowledge us when we arrived. We were stood at the waiting point for several minutes and a number of staff walked past us, so we walked up to the till and at least 5 members of staff looked at us and ignored us, including two ladies who were supposed to be checking people in. A lady working behind the till got their attention and asked us to wait a few more minutes. Once we were checked in, the boys who got us into the boat were reassuring but not very friendly, and a little dismissive. Rowing is harder than it looks, which gave us so many laughs and the river / scenery was stunning, especially with the sun starting to set. When we got back onto dry land we were seated outside, the setting was beautiful, the music really made the atmosphere and the food was delicious! The waiters/waitresses were good, the food was obviously freshly prepared, portions sizes were generous, and the chef was wonderful with dietary requirements. Hats off to the chief! Overall, we had a lovely evening and certainly got value for money, so we would go back, but friendliness/customer service could definitely be improved.
Came here for a Breakfast/Brunch have driven past many times whilst working and always wanted to visit. It didn't dissapoint, good parking available. The staff were very polite we decided to eat outside as it was a nice sunny Sunday. A good choice of food and decent portions,we had the egg hollandaise, and smokey beans on toast with a pot of tea. It was really nice in such a nice area, very relaxing time.Dogs are allowed.
What a lovely place even on a rainy day! Would have taken a boat out as well if it wasn't for the bad weather. The staff were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble. The food was substantial and of a high quality. I would have take pictures of our cakes and kids chocolate Sunday but we are them before I could do so. All in all we would go again.
What a lovely tranquil place to sit and eat or drink. Service was good and polite. It was clean and well looked after. Plenty of places to sit outside and inside. Within a week after discovering this place had visited it 3 times. Mainly for coffee and in the afternoon, but plan to have lunch very soon. I would imagine it gets very busy during school holidays, especially during the summer. You can also hire rowing boats here for £20 per hour. Lovely
Me and my girlfriend had breakfast here on 13th Feb. I had the The Kitchen Breakfast and my girlfriend had the Fried Egg & Field Mushroom, Toast, Parsley Butter, Rocket. My girlfriend has a gluten allergy so her breakfast was made with gluten free bread toast. It is great to be able to dine in a place that caters for people with this allergy. Both breakfasts were superb and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The 2 flat white coffees I had were equally good. The service was also friendly and welcoming. My girlfriend also had a slice of gluten free Carrot Cake to take away which she enjoyed once we returned home. Looking for to coming back again for the Row & Dine Evenings in the Summer.
A lovely location by Dedham Mill, great when the sun is out and with a great selection of food and vast quantity of cake! Came here on bank holiday weekend with full sun, and had an amazing brunch. Smashed avocado was well sized and extremely tasty, and we couldn't resist some cake and coffee which was equally as good. Extremely polite staff and fast service, would highly recommend!
Nice walk at Dedham followed by lunch at the boathouse on a beautiful mild Autumn afternoon, seated outside on riverside, beautiful setting. Food always top notch, great venue.
Good place for a breakfast or lunch overlooking the river stour. It is both lovely inside and in the courtyard. Food good and reasonable prices. Can walk it off along the river bank or around Dedham village.
Amazing food! Excellent quality. We loved every bite and will definately be back 10/10
This is a must if you are in the area! We didn't plan on visiting the boathouse at all, but when driving past it looked too good to miss. The food was amazing! Also well priced. Location is also very pretty.
