I have used the services of Bluewater Financial Planning both for business and personal use.

I engaged Bluewater to perform a review of the company's pension and risk benefit policies as I was not happy with the level of information and transparency from the incumbent suppliers. Bluewater's review was both comprehensive and presented in non-technical language. 

Bluewater had identified that a portion of the risk benefit costs were being funded from employer pension contributions, which was contrary to the employment contracts of the company's employees. I addition the company was paying to protect 100% of income protection risks where a risk of only 50% existed. Following the review, the board of the company accepted Bluewater's recommendations that the pension funds be moved to an alternative supplier and that the risk benefits be aligned to match the actual risks and be funded separately from the pension contributions. 

I also engaged Bluewater to perform a lifestyle review of both myself and my spouse. This identified that we were both providing adequately for our future income requirements, which was a welcome relief to both of us.

Steven Barrett, the owner of Bluewater, communicates in plain English, is very approachable and responds quickly to any queries.

I have personally recommended him to several contacts and will continue to do so.

Bluewater FP provides a great service. Steven makes the sometimes daunting task of financial planning accessible and straightforward. His affable manner combined with knowledge and experience put me at ease straight away. I sought investment advise and he was able to take on board my needs and personal circumstances, provide a number of options and recommendations in as much detail as I required.
I came away with a decent understanding of how to be efficient with investing in terms of fees and which options best suited me. I never felt pressured or pushed in any particular direction. The whole experience was relaxed yet thorough, friendly yet professional. I would not hesitate in recommending Steven to my friends or family for similar services / advice.

Bluewater Financial Planning has been instrumental in helping my father navigate the complicated world of pension maturation and financial planning. After our initial introductory meeting where we talked about broader financial goals we had an in-depth review of our family finances, what the options were for pension maturation and which ones would be the right fit for my father. Steven also did a risk assessment of potential future needs and how we could plan for those eventualities.
