Poor service, poor result, no recovery, massively disappointed!! We wanted a premium slate fireplace hearth, that's why we went with a premium provider. Unfortunately we are massively disappointed from Blue Mantle. The hearths were ordered some time last autumn, we had to pay ~£2000 upfront for two hearths, which we unfortunately did. Then it was installed some time in Jan or Feb. The result was a massive disappointment, huge gaps to the new wood floor, where the dirt gathers, one of the slate sheets kind of whitish, one of them has a small crack and then the smear of the cement in our freshly painted fireplace. Really? We complained earlier this year, had a visit weeks ago, dozens of phone calls and emails. The only positive thing I can say about Blue Mantle is they are all very friendly and accommodating, but that does not help me and after almost 5 months of friendly phone calls and promises, we've had enough!
Two gas fireplaces failed in the span of one year. The first one never worked on installation and the replacement was installed 9 weeks after paying over £2500!! After the 2nd failure, Mick & Syed refused to carry out warranty repairs within the warranty period despite the manufacturer instructing them to do so. Legal notices got them to accept partial responsibility but even then they insisted on being paid £180 to carry out warranty repair work. Blue Mantle represent the absolute the worst form of business customer service in existence today. Avoid these clowns like the plague, and remember to only pay using a credit card for Section 75 protection.
Sid and the team took their time to ensure we had exactly what we wanted. The final outcome was absolutely amazing and the fireplace has become the main feature of my living room. This fireplace has been worth every penny and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bluemantle fireplaces to anyone. Immediately, they give you peace of mind as they put customer service as their main priority.
Having hunted round a number of fireplace shops in SE London, we found Blue Mantle had the best range and the best customer service of the lot. Other companies were slow at responding and vague about the price. We managed to get exactly what we were looking for and within our budget - nothing we asked for was too much for Syed! Fitters did an excellent job and accommodated our requests. It's a great place to pootle around on a Saturday afternoon. We have recommended to family and friends already.
When planning to visit again this unique shop and its fascinating location in an old firestation, just for the pleasure of looking at the many nice antiques on display, I realized not to have made public the very positive experience I had there 4 years ago. I bought a very nice fireplace at a definitely lower price than that offered from other shops and I appreciated a very professional and discrete advice from the staff, also receiving some accessories as a present. I strongly recommend Bleu Mantle if you have to buy a fireplace and anyway a visit if you like to go back to the past.
Bought a fireplace - at the time, great service and a wonderful site to browse. Getting them to answer the phone or email to arrange for delivery is very difficult though, ie. after the money already paid. I strongly suggest booking delivery there and then, if you have a date you can work to. otherwise expect a long wait.
Great Fireplaces, service and staff. The showroom has an excellent atmosphere with classical music. You won't find a better place to buy your fireplaces or antiques in London. I love how such an old fire station, that was decomissioned because of a fire, is now selling fireplaces.
Two new fire surrounds and a new back of the fireplace delivered and fitted, excellent quality, fitters arrived dead on time both vists, were really polite and did a fantastic job including cleaning up. Very impressed and wouldn't go anywhere else in future, fantastic
They were recommended to us by our estate agents in Mayfair as we were looking for someone to restore our marble surrounds and radiators, the service provided by Blue Mantle was superb. Thank you Blue Mantle.
