This restaurant is located in the most ancient palace of Barnard Castle town. Here you can find tipical English kitchen an atmosphere. Their plates are very taste.

Warmly welcomed by a cosy roaring open fire. And two absolutely lovely ladies. Excellent service throughout the evening.  Exquisite food . Highest recommendations all round. Bernard castle is a jewel.

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, great wine list, delicious food with generous portions, and a very reasonably priced menu. Worth a visit to Barnard Castle in its own right!

Very quaint , the ambiance was outstanding,  Staff great but meue needed tweaking,  more choice and our meal came with a bland variety of vegetables. Not cheap,

Food was standard, i assume people enjoy coming here because of the history and atmosphere. My family booked the whole place for a 50th but weren't allowed to bring my 15month old son.
