The restaurant on the upstairs of Blackwell was the best place to hang out, study or some meetings, the staff were extremely kind, however, it turned into a Korean restaurant, staff changed and it lost its all magic. The new staff acts you like you are unwanted in there and they don't hesitate to speak very rude way. Moreover, they prefer to increase the level of music when they saw that you are as a group trying to do a meeting, although you asked them not to do it in a very kind way. So, in total, I would not advice anyone to go there, no one deserves this kind of disrespectful and rude behavior. It is just a disappointment.
Nice campus bookshop with hard-working staff. Useful for stationery and cards. The book selection is focused on student and course needs, so it's not somewhere you'd really go to browse, but they can order books in and make an effort to be competitive on price.
Partner usually goes here to get his uni books and has had no problem so I decided to try. Firstly I bought a book and put a deposit down for one that they "ordered in for me". I waited a week with no email so I checked and they didn't even put the order on bare in mine I needed this book for the beginning of semester 1. So I complained and they told me they'd do it that day and email me immediately: yet again, no email and no order put through. The third time I went in I found out that they'd started the order 4 weeks late and put it through as unpaid I know I have my receipt somewhere but I haven't had time to search due to work being due. Upon being asked if I "still want the order" I was told that it'd be a couple of weeks wait anyway so earliest I'd have had the book would have been AFTER the essay for that subject was due. I then found out it was because they hired "temp" staff for over the new student arrival time. It'd be good if you actually told your temp what to do so I didn't waste my time worrying in the first place. I order all my books online at a different store now and actually get what I paid for.
A very bad customer service. It’s been three weeks and I haven’t got my book yet. Tried to contact the customer service they can’t give any solution. All the staffs in the store also have no answer about my order. No solution at all, no refund no compensation no nothing. Order number 004794320. A very poor quality service. Do not order online from this store.
They ensure they will re-buy your book at the end of the term, but it is a liei have gone today with 5 books i bought to them in the last 6 months, they are not interested in second hand market as they earn less money. Better use amazon
Blackwells is a must for students. You can order books and buy books for as good as the Amazon price if you show staff the Amazon page for the book. Textbooks will sell out here fast though just before semester starts so get there while you can. The café on the top floor has the amazing Seoul Kitchen from Thursday to Saturday where you can get tasty Korean food and is perfect to study in.
One of my friend sold our lecture book here. After one day, also I went there for selling my lecture book. Shop told me '' we do not buy this book this year''. When I asked shop manager, my friend was here, and she sold it books to you yesterday . She said it wasn't me, it should not have taken. Shop is '' not reliable '' for me anymore.
This store does not buy secondhand books. It only buys books back that they know they can sell again as they're on uni reading lists. Completely false to suggest they buy second hand books full stop. Simple enquiries are everything but.
Its was the cafe above which I visited. Monday to Wednesday is African food - the Lamb Mafe is great and then Thurs to Sat is Korean - Dak Galbi spicy chicken stir fry is fantastic
Absolutely love this bookshop, pretty much every title there is something I want to read. Easy layout to find things and often half price used books.
