Blackwell Newcastle has over 100,000 titles in stock specialising in medical, law & business, languages, historical studies and social sciences. We also have a good range of general fiction & literature, art & design, travel and sciences books in stock. To add to this we also sell stationery, cards and gift stationery, medical instruments and games!

Newcastle's hidden gem though, is its art & graphics department. A premier art store, we stock everything from technical drawing equipment, mountboard, paper & card to craft materials, artist quality paints & brushes, easels, portfolios and just about everything in between. We are always looking to extend the range we carry and are happy to order most products if we don't stock it; we are also open to suggestions as to what you would like to see in store!

Really good library with academic books and also novel. The prices are affordable and there is also materials for art student or architecture Student. You can find notebooks, manga, agenda, novel, study book. There is a good organisation and books are in good state. There is a personal recommandation
Just use amazon. Weird guy on with grey hair decided to be sarcastic when I asked about prices. It was just him and I in the empty store. There were no prices on the IFRS book, not on front back or side or inside leafs. Whenen asked: he said the prices were on the back and showed me a different one next to barcode, on one he had to hand. So he advised to scan it, if I bring it to him. It came to £60 which is double the cost should be. So I declined and offered to put it back. He shoved it in my hand damaging and bending the cover, the corner now folded over. I noticed the books next to it also do not have prices. The weird guy said nothing as I left, never to return. A good example of bad service from the soon the be closed down Blackwell.
We popped in today to get some books but ended up buying Pokemon cards! My boy said he would only buy the cards from Blackwell's from now on as Johnny was very knowledgeable/ professional and introduced us to thier Pokemon club! Thank you Johnny, you made my son a very happy boy! We penciled in for the club day so we shall come and enjoy Blackwell's again!
The sketchbooks here are good quality and last a long time. I have also recently bought some model grass and leaves which worked amazing with my model
A absolute gem of a bookshop. Really well stocked and everything is neatly arranged so it's easy to find your way around. The staff are really friendly too. All they need to do now is stock my book
I enjoy using Blackwells bookshops, which are well stocked and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The mail order service is free, which is excellent, but hit and miss. I ordered a book which takes 72 hours to dispatch. 72 hours later and its still not been dispatched. I am not sure its going to arrive by Christmas, so I will need to order somewhere else and return the Blackwells order.
Blackwells has quickly became my 3 little girls favourite bookshop after our first visit today. Apologies I did not get staff name but he was brilliant with the girls and impressed them with his knowledge of books and recommendations. After 45 minutes of browsing, chatting& buying books and a skeleton... You can buy all sorts in there.. I had to drag the reluctant girls out
I went in on the off chance looking for specific art materials which they didn't have, but I guessed they wouldn't anyway, but thought I'd chance it. Primarily a bookshop, situation by the 2 universities, Blackwell's has a large range of books, from fiction to academic. Obviously, there's a focus on classic literature and academic works for the universities, but it also has a charming art department, which covers all the basics and also has some craft and model making materials small foliage etc. Very happy with it, and it has a lovely vibe, with very knowledgeable staff.
This book shop is everything you want in a book shop! It smells of books! It has everything and more you could want or need. The staff are fabulous too
A cosy place for book and stationery lovers! Sometimes I visit it just to feel surrounded by books. Lovely gifts and cards! Staff is friendly, indeed.
