Stopped on the off chance for dinner, following a road diversion and certainly wasn’t disappointed. Homemade steak and ale pie was delicious and beautifully served. Apple and berry crumble with custard was also superb - hubby had the lemon treacle tart, he said is was super! Definitely a lucky find!
A warm, welcoming greeting from the landlord. Followed by excellent service and attention to the needs of one of our party that has severe food allergies. The food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. Highly recommended
Cute old pub, stopped on our way, fresh food, specially busy in Sunday!
Sunday lunch was really good. Not an extensive menu but good enough. Large servings and hot. Friendly helpful staff.
Lovely food and service. First visit since new ownership. Have been many times before and the food never disappoints.
We were staying nearby and had asked our host for recommendations of places to eat and this was his number 1 for good food in a cosy environment. Exactly what we needed after a 3+ hour journey. The food was home-cooked and tasted delightful. The pub was warm and cosy, and welcoming. It was a really reasonable price, and we would definitely come back here again when we are next in the area and would advise anyone to try it out. They also do Thai food some nights in the week which we didn't get to to try but would love to in the future! A nice little touch of something different in the area : Thank you so much!
Fantastic pub. We went tonight for my father in laws birthday and was very happy that i chose this pub for dinner. Fantastic food and puddings.
Excellent venue and friendly hosts who accommodated our large party of 14 at very short notice. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Dog friendly our whippet was showered with affection from the owners daughter. Everywhere was clean and bright. Large car park and play area nearby. Highly recommend. Thanks for having us!
Excellent meals including Sunday dinner had over 2 days while staying locally. Stayed outside as dogs not allowed inside in the quiet little garden, they could do with some new garden benches as the once they have looking very old and dirty but the food was reasonably priced and good portions sizes and very tasty.
Wonderful experience very helpful and obliging staff. Delicious food and lovely atmosphere for our Christmas party of 27 people! Excellent venue.
