For an NHS hospital underfunded and stretch to heck with patients which is not their fault, they have got wonderful staff, they look like busy hummingbirds flattering about trying so hard to look after people and work out what's wrong so they can get people better. I admire the hard working NHS staff and hope they all get all the good things in life they deserve.
Arrived with my 85 yr old Mum after a fall.nEvery member of staff was courteous, efficient and so helpful. There was a long wait but everyone was so kind and patient.nThankyou so much x
My mum went to victoria hospital Saturday evening 27/07/24 and the staff there are absolutely fantastic they made sure she was comfortable in every way and they looked after everyone who visited her, sadly she passed away but it was expected.nI would like to thank all of the staff that looked after my mum and our family and you all should be very proud of yourselfs for a fantastic Job you are doing and you all deserve a pay rise.
Went to a@e 1febuary from Whitegate medical center breathing difficulties swollen legs at 2000hrs spent 36 hours sitting in waiting room before I was found a bed in a corridor struggling to breathe in severe pain eventually put on a ward then spent 8 days receiving treatment for heart failure and fluid on lungs am now finally home but now require more treatment in outpatients not an experience I wish suffer again
I arrived on oxygen with a fever. I was passed from the ambulance service to A&E to be escalated after a few hours in the hallway. Once assessed, I was suspected to have a chest infection, which later turned out to be pneumonia following a fortnight of influenza. Late that night they put me in a corridor. Someone took me off oxygen despite sats of 84, put a wristband on me I later found out was another patients and wouldn't give me paracetamol for my fever. That night the two nurses ignored me and the other patients that had been put in this dark corridor, they found it humorous that an old woman behind me was crying out for help because she couldn't see and was scared. I led on that bed all night without oxygen and with a fever, on a bed next to that poor old woman. In the morning a nurse with experience checked my wristband, she was outraged that I'd been left there with the wrong name and no medication. My sputum sample hadn't been taken, I had required a chest x-ray but nobody had known where I was to take me.... It was hell. I spent the rest of the week between the acute medical unit and the cardiac wards, trying to recover my lungs on oxygen and antibiotics. That night in A&E cost my health dearly! God knows how many others left in that corridor actually made it where they should be, many were in that corridor for days. I'll never trust A&E again in an emergency, there's almost nothing left of the great NHS there once was.
