My partner was allocated a place at the ARC at the end of October 24' and was told there would be high levels of care, intense physio and rehabilitation following a stroke.nOn all counts they failed. Safeguarding issues, including:nPlacing call button lanyard away from her on at least 4 occasions.nMember of staff shouting at her in the night when she needed turning to be made comfortable.nNot taking into account nutritional needs.nOther patiens walking into her room.nOn top of this, there promise of therapy did not materialise. Constant interruptions from staff when family were visiting.nStaff not allowing her to continue private phone calls and sitting in the room talking over her.nThe room not being kept clean or organised.nOther people's clothing appearing in the wardrobe.nAl in all, they did more damage than good. Never ever again would we let her go there. I have heard form health professionals that it has a poor reputation and now I have seen it for myself. Please, if you care for a loved one, don't send them there.nThis is based on my opinion alone.
My friend stayed here.nIt was very noisy, no consideration that people are trying to recover.nMembers of staff coming in every 5 mins to check the same thing another member of staff had already done 5 mins ago.nLoosing your washing and being told we'll your family should do it. She had no family that's why she was there.nThe food is not brilliant. But they did keep her safe till things were sorted for home help
my partners dad was staying here to rehabilitate but was left in absolute discusting states. it was left to my partner having to wash and dress her own father. his legs were urine burnt from being left if p*** soaked pjs. she would never recommend this place for anyone
Absolutely horrendous. My nana briefly went in for a short stay - the entire experience was awful.nThe staff were extremely rude with myself on multiple occasions. They refused to answer my questions/give information when asked - especially when they were carrying out wrong procedures. Also put my nana on medication that her doctors didn’t want her on without informing us.nAlso would be careful if specific dietary requirements are needed to be met. My nana has been a life long vegetarian - they were offering her corned beef sandwiches!! Never underestimate the fact that the leading nurse was very snarky in regards to what she ate.
Thank you the council and the staff. Getting over an invasive surgery is toil. The team here have given me the tools to assist me to hopefully get back to work
