Blackford Pond is located in the Hermitage of Braid Nature reserve. It is a great place to go for a walk, jog or cycle. The ducks and swans come up onto the path to see if you have any food for them. If you travel by car there is free on street parking. Or you can get there by Lothian bus numbers 38 or 41.
Great little walk around nature. The pond was simply beautiful and there was plenty of wildlife.
It is very good for a walk in dry weather. But after heavy rain the paths get waterlogged into sludge or even flood on rare occasions. Also, if had snow/ice the pond can freeze over which could be dangerous if young kids decide to use it as an ice rink.
Quite a small pond, but full of activity. There is a swan family and lots of ducks living at the pond. Around the pond, you'll also find many other animals, moorhens, coots, grey heron, robins and little creatures. With a few benches dotted around the edge of the poind, you can sit and enjoy the wildlife. Take some food like seeds and oats, not white bread, to feed to the variety of birds. There's also a small children's play area. Well worth a visit.
Great for duck feeding and great walk to the blackford hills

Great little park with a nice pond, lots of birds, always nice to bring kids to play or walk here.
Beautiful pond. Play area doesn't have to be closed.
