This was my first time coming here. I loved it. The food was plentiful, delicious and new. On top of this the decor is dark but atmospheric, with a dim light setting the mood. You are greeted with tasteful music, which gives off very good vibes. I could not recommend this more, it also has free pool on Wednesdays.
Nice pool tables, but it’s a bit weird that their system for pool payment doesn’t involve paying per game but paying per hour. Theoretically you could continue playing after your hour’s up because all that changes is that the light goes out above the table. Cocktails are a good price, toilets are pretty alright, and the bouncers are nice enough!
So sorry but actually just not a great place for drinks or food, atmosphere was so dingy no windows or vibes, we came because we had really good salt and pepper tofu before which was another food provider, paid for salt and pepper chips for £9 which were just frozen fried with some peppers on. Really would not recommend at allFood: 1/5
Very much enjoyed the food at Black Dog Ballroom /salt and pepper. Good value for food, tasty fries and decent chicken - can't complain, would recommend!
Very stand off Ish door staff when I hadn’t even had a single drink. Had to wait for my friend to arrive because I couldn’t go in on my own. Went inside and there’s no one in there this was a Friday night we just wanted to play some pool but then when my other friend arrived they refused him entry for no valid reason. He was completely sober too. Kind of makes sense why the venue is dead inside. Door staff need simply a sniff of a ‘bad vibe’ and you are not getting in. Why would you pay for 3 door staff, 4 or 5 bar staff only to host about 6 people playing pool. The numbers just don’t add up! Other than that the bar staff were cool they just didn’t have very many paying customers to serve due to the harsh door policy. Used to be a great meet up place before a nightclub and now it’s just an empty room with very loud music. So if you are trying to have a nice chilled hangout place why would the music be blasting so you can’t hear each other? I’m either getting tinnitus and dancing or I’m sitting down having a chat. Which one is it?
Just home from a private party for my son in law . Beautiful place staff extremely friendly and very helpful. Tom on the bar went that extra mile for us defo 10* service. Highly recommended
Food was good but difficult to eat - need to find burger buns with some structural integrity; also offer some dips inc. pizza sauce as extras; hotdogs and option to remove spicy toppings and sauces. The atmosphere was good and the staff were friendly although it's a little pricey.Food: 3/5
Came to Manchester to see Fall Out Boy went to Black Dog Ballroom before gig it was great, good selection of beers and food was great, mainly burgers and chips. It's a grungy place for good rock music, staff were great and there is a discount at the moment 25% if you can prove you are going to a gig that night. Darts and pool also available, good selection of beers + Guinness. Great place always go for a game here when ever in Manchester. Kid-friendliness: No issues for kids during day, mine are teenagers. Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately straight as you walk in two flight of stairs going down, I didn't see any wheel chair access but doesn't mean there isn't any as I was not looking.
Amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing deals check before you go, amazing staff - genuinely the whole package
We were attending an event here so we arrived early to grab some food. The food was amazing.
