Story

The Biscuit Factory is the UK’s largest art, craft & design gallery set in the heart of Newcastle’s cultural quarter. Housed in a former Victorian warehouse, our beautiful gallery spaces are set over two floors and display a range of exciting contemporary fine art, sculpture, original prints and jewellery, quality craftsmanship and design led homewares. The Biscuit Factory hosts four major exhibitions a year, representing the work of around 250 artists each season, so there is always something new to see every time you visit.

During my visit to Newcastle, I explored The Biscuit Factory, a vibrant art gallery in the Ouseburn Valley. This unique spot, set in a former Victorian warehouse, showcases a diverse mix of contemporary art, sculpture, and jewelry from over 200 artists. The gallery is spacious and well-organized, with new exhibitions every quarter, ensuring there's always something fresh to see. The shop is fantastic, offering a range of quality crafts and design-led homewares—perfect for picking up unique souvenirs. I also enjoyed a delicious brunch at The Factory Kitchen, their in-house café, which has a lovely rooftop terrace. The combination of interesting artwork and great food made for a delightful experience overall.
If you are thinking about investing in some art, if you would like to own something special, if you want to give a unique gift/card/piece of jewellery, then I highly recommend that you pay a visit to the Biscuit Factory. There is so much to see and admire here; set over 2 floors the range of styles and media is unbelievable. I was more drawn to the art on the ground floor, but also enjoyed dreaming of owning one of the many stunning wooden pieces on the first floor. There is a lovely, welcoming atmosphere in the building and visitors are free to explore at their leisure. On the first floor there is also a cafe area, however I did not visit this. Well worth a visit!

I quite like this gallery and how it’s structured. So the first floor is mostly some art products, jewelry, poetry, cup sets, home decor, and paintings and prints that most people can buy; although I think paintings in Princeville are too pricey other products are OK-ish. The second floor mostly displays different artists' works some of them are paintings and others are statues etc, but some of them would change as time goes. Plus, the second floor also has a Cafe which is quite bright and nice, so you can order coffee and deserts after you finish the gallery. Lovely place to spend time with a friend for sure.
A Former The Biscuit Factory which had major restorations and opened in 2022 is the largest commercial art, craft & design contemporary Art Gallery in the UK. Entrance is free. A huge and interesting range of Art from paintings jewellery, ceramics, digital media.... The Gallery also has a roof top cafe, but disabled, especially in wheelchairs has no access. Has disabled toilets shop & bookshop. There is a ramp to access the artisan shop to access the Art Gallery. The is a car park outside and 1 disabled space. I did thoroughly enjoy the Art, but affordability with hefty £ signs.
Always a fantastic place to spend a few hours, they have a terrific variety of art work and sculptures in many different media. The jewelry is beautiful and unique. Most of the time parking is easy but l didn't realize that there's an actual 'overspill' carpark as well just off the main road. The food upstairs is excellent but it does get rather busy.
Great place to meet up. Spend time looking at some incredible art work, paintings, ceramics, fabulous wood pieces, jewellery, cards. You name it they sell it. Bit pricey? They offer payment system - so that incredible art piece is within your reach. But uf you want to look without buying - that's ok too. THEN it's off for lunch. Top quality food and friendly service. Don't miss this place off your to-do list.
I observed the staff and manager talking rudely about customers and several customers getting annoyed by orders. there are fabulous staff in the gallery and gift shop where some great art to buy there, sadly the cafe staff are not. limited menus mainly just cakes and coffee
I love photographing weddings at The Biscuit Factory! It's so unique to be able to have your ceremony in the art gallery. There are lots of cool urban locations around the Ouseburn to go to for couples portraits with a cool city vibe too!
