Bijou is very pretty restaurant, looks quite unassuming from the outside really, but the interior is very old school chic, from long before press-ups were a twinkle in the eye of the Dublin restaurant scene. And it’s because of that I wish the food was more ambitious, or focussed on the cuisine of one country. As it is it’s doing a grand job serving a standard pan European selection of bistro dishes, and it does that quite well, I just wish it greater sense of purpose than that!
Had a lovely dinner yesterday. Menu online different from actual menu but because I live locally I knew that before I went; almost booked a different restaurant because of it and not everyone can pop up to see the menu. Staff considerate, professional, attentive and kind with lovely uniforms. Was seated out in a beautiful, quiet courtyard on the second floor to the back which they opened up specially for us. Had a lovely presented and tasty main of trout with shrimp sauce which was promptly served. Fish was excellent quality and mashed potato was silky. Companion enjoyed her super tender beef dish. Only drawback I found is I thought the desserts were a bit limiting. We both went for the Baileys cheese cake which was beautifully presented with berries but not the most exceptional one I've ever tasted. Would have loved the option of a nice gateaux. Restaurant itself is stunning with a lovely atmosphere and beautiful lighting. Loos a bit small and lock a bit hard to work. No loos on second floor where there are two beautifully and tastefully furnished other rooms. No lift so its a bit if hassle going down the beautifully carpeted but long stairs to the bathroom however overall a great, relaxing and enjoyable evening.
Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. Attentive staff without being a nuisance. Really good food also. Prices are easy to review for yourself, value is trickier to identify. I regard this restaurant as good value. We had a very enjoyable family evening out. Will be back again.
We had a lovely experience here recently. A warm, welcoming ambience & the food was excellent. I had the duck salad followed by the lamb. My husband had the pate followed by the braised beef. All delicious. The staff were very professional & friendly. Will definitely be back.
Had an absolutely lovely brunch here today. Excellent food, with a relaxed but attentive staff. Couldn't of had a better experience. I had fish and chips, the cod was perfectly done and a great portion. My partner had buttermilk chicken, and it was devoured. Without asking, they brought out chicken and water for our dog, he was also thrilled with the staff. We shall be returning.
Staff weren’t welcoming and quite rude at the entrance/upstairs seating area. Dinner dishes are usually delicious, except overpriced for the portions you receive. Have been a regular customer for many years and realized the service has become greatly poorer. However, the ambience of the restaurant is distinctive and beautiful.
Food was great. All 6 of us ate from Meat eaters to Vegetarians and 1 Vegan. Lovely selection to suit everyone as Various Pizzas ,Meat dishes and Fish selection Coffee and deserts had by some and others enjoyed the wine which waiter recommended. We were on way to Garth Brooks concert on the 10th September. This meal was a great start to evening
This was such an amazing spot. The staff were fantastic and so nice to deal with. The food was cooked to perfection, and there was a nice feel to the restaurant. I will definitely go back again.
Got brunch today in Bijou restaurant with family. Best brunch I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend them staff are extremely nice and friendly restaurant very very comfortable. I will definitely recommend them and go again
We really enjoyed it. We had various starters with truffle fries, a trout and a tofu main and a praline dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly and professional.Food: 5/5
