Came early Friday 21st Oct, started quiet, love the decor, slowly got busier before we left around half 7, seemed like a nice crowd, lady behind the bar was great, very welcoming, pool tables and foosball at the back, decent toilets men’s at least! Hopefully can get a food menu going again soon, otherwise pretty much my ideal bar!
Staff were respectful and toilets were kept clean. The place has other amenities like 3 pool tables and 1 table soccer. The space is big enough too. Additionally its in a very good location close to lots of places to eat.
It's not the same as it was in its last iteration but this 'downtown dive bar' is still great. It is a late-night venue closing at 2am with pool tables, good music and a good selection of drinks including some cocktails on tap. The decor is great, including a motorcycle hanging above the bar. It is full of students, off-shift pub workers and drunken night owls and it is the best fun you can have after midnight in Holloway. And it's reasonably priced.
Staff here are so lovely and really feels like they're looking out for you. I went there with a friend last night and we were being harassed by a random guy. Sarah and Barry bar staff quickly came over to sit with us to make sure we were okay. They removed the guy from the pub and let us leave by the staff exit to make sure we didn't bump into him on the way out. Really sweet, handled beautifully. Big up the big red!
Great environment but please improve the pool table section and hire bar women with a smile as every time I go there, I can see that they do not enjoy what their doing and they’re just waiting for the time to go home.
A bit of a hidden gem. Although it's on the main road you don't get a proper feel for the enormity of the space inside from the front of the bar. It stretches back quite a way and has ample room inside. The decor is great with loads of stuff from vintage to current Americana and it's open late to boot. The sound system is Martin Audio so sounds great especially when there are live bands playing. The food has a veggie option but everything on the menu is great and especially good for the sharing platters.
A proper dive bar... Great music, great crowd and great food. If your not a metalhead you are warned that this place is loud! Beer selection is good and always found the service to be spot on. As an ex Intrepid Fox man this place is my new place to be.
Big man Paul is an absolute G, rate him 10/10 the beers were nice and the staff are class. Elijah Weatherup is a #1 customer, massive legend.
Awesome music venue! Had a blast there watching bands, drink prices a good! They have a small menu of food. I had chicken wings where you can choose the flavour. Can’t remember what I had but it was delicious! They have little booths you can sit in and tables at the back. Staff lovely as well. Very nice pub!
It’s not a dive bar or a rock bar. It’s just the only bar on Holloway Road that’s open late. And beware of the opening hours - they stop serving an hour before they close - ever heard of this before…?!?! And it’s still listed as a halls of residence on Google..,
