My second time here, it was so nice. The food, the service and the whole atmosphere. I love the fact even though there's a long queue they'd never rush you out. You get to peacefully enjoy your afternoon tea. Recommend!
Betty's of Harrogate is a brilliant experience. We booked afternoon tea in the Imperial Room. The tea was lovely. Wide range of teas available served with sandwiches, scones, jam and cream followed by delicate cakes and macaroons. You could ask for more sandwiches which we did. For the bits we didn't eat they supplied a box and bag to bring these home. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. If you don"t book you can simply queue and wait.
It is one of the most popular tea rooms in the world for some reasons - Betty’s menu, service and quality is excellent!! Great traditional afternoon tea with amazing quality cakes and scone, while also a vast menu of breakfast and mains to please everyone. Really recommend as a family experience!
Lived in Harrogate my whole 23 years of life, and have only been the Betty's for the first time around 3 months ago, then again the other day. Service is fabulous, drinks and food are lovely, proper luxury little tea rooms. Something about pouring tea from a teapot really enhances the experience, aha. Slightly a little pricey for the portion sizes, -£13 for a breakfast with only 1 sausage and no beans?! but it's not a place I'll be going often, so I can accept the price if I only go a few times a year in the future. I would probably just go for scones and tea - so good! Afternoon tea is quite nice, too. That was my first experience of Betty's which made me return. And the shop is great for treats, too!
I recently went here with my family for breakfast whilst on holiday. We all agreed it was one of the best breakfasts that we have had away. The food was delicious and the service was first class. Had afternoon tea there with my sister and my young niece later on. Highly recommend a visit.
Bettys was a lovely experience. It's well decorated with a lovely ambience picture how the Titanic tea room would have looked and fantastic customer service! The queues can be long, but they move at a steady pace. Once inside, it's actually spacious with 3 floors and not crowded as you'd imagine. You can actually have a conversation and hear one another! The prices don't break the bank either, and the most expensive coffee was around £8 or so, which is not much more than a high street coffee chain. The only criticism that we have sadly is with the food we ordered. The pan-fried salmon salad dish was cooked with orange slices, and they really did not go together at all, therefore left most of it. Also, the soup of the day mushroom could have been better presented. I know it's soup, but still, a deeper bowl with some garnish would have made a huge difference. It looked like a bowl of weetabix and tasted okay. However, I would still not mark this place down, due to the overall experience and customer service, which made up for everything. The coffee and cakes were amazing!
Everything you have heard is true... It is wonderful. The food is great, the service super and the ambience unique. It is egalitarian in that everyone queues, and that is super as it means first come first serve. And the food offering is fresh, well cooked and presented. It is fair and reasonable in price and is a great experience. I loved it
We had the bookable afternoon tea in the Imperial Room to celebrate a special occasion. Such a lovely atmosphere with a pianist in the corner and beautiful decor. The waitress must have been a mind-reader as she magically appeared out of nowhere whenever we needed her! Delicious food and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Highly recommend for anyone celebrating something special Vegetarian options: Wait staff very willing to work around dietary restrictions and preferences Wheelchair accessibility: No lift up to room to my knowledge. Narrow staircase to toilets Dietary restrictions: Wait staff very willing to work around dietary restrictions and preferences
Reroute to purposely try this much recommended, and much in demand tea room for the 'original' afternoon tea. Luckily we didn't have to queue much, and ambience and service was great! But probably a little over-rated as food was more pretty than tasty, on the dry and sweet side.
Absolutely superb! Today we went for a lovely afternoon tea in the beautiful imperial room. The interior is absolutely stunning and feels calm. Our server Megan was amazing - so bubbly, efficient and personable! Anne was also lovely and charming. We were serenaded by a live piano - the pianist playing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at our request was very special. All the workers were incredibly friendly and attentive making us feel very welcome. There are so many unique and diverse teas to choose from, and the food is delicious. I will definitely be planning another visit!
