No Xmas parcel - utter shambles and lack of communication between Betty's and DPD. On Tuesday 20-12-22 I received an email from DPD saying that 'We’ve got your Bettys parcel, however, we wanted to let you know that it has been sent to us after the last Christmas shipping date. This means it will now probably arrive after Christmas'. I was then assured by Betty's that it would. Betty's even had a banner on there website saying this and that every effort was to be made to delivery orders on time. No further contact or apology from Betty's or DPD until an email arrives 24-12-12 saying that the parcel would not be delivered before Xmas. This is completely unacceptable given the parcel and delivery date 21-12-22 were set in October with DPD as the courier. Further, the reason given 'unexpected issue' is neither specific or credible given that the parcel is already three days late. The planning here is derisory and it would appear there has been little in the way of prioritisation. And I don't want to hear the excuse you have been busy - it is up to you to plan and risk mitigate.
Placed an order with Bettys on 15/02/2021 for delivery to my home 26/02/2021. Received an email 25/02/2021 to inform me that dpd would contact me at around 11:00am on the 26/02/2021. At 15-30hrs on the 26/02/2021 I had not been contacted by dpd so I telephoned Bettys. The lady who answered my call rang dpd to check on the delivery,came back to me and said my order had been lost between Bettys and dpd and was full of apologies. Of the 7 items ordered Bettys managed to get 2 delivered on the 27/02/2021. It was our wedding anniversary on the 27th why we ordered in the first place. The rest of the order would be delivered over the next 2 weeks,Bettys, really putting them selves out! No attempt to try and make up for their failure We cancelled the balance of the order. We where under the misapprehension they Bettys where CUSTOMER FOCUSED not at all. I emailed Bettys customer service and asked for some kind of explanation for their failure to deliver the order,I am still waiting a reply. Needless to say we won’t be using Bettys by post or Cafes again.
The cakes and chocolates are often superb, if pricey, but the online shopping experience is poor. I received a gift voucher and started to fill a basket, only to find at the checkout, that gift vouchers can only be used for orders placed on the phone. And then the actual voucher then has to be POSTED in for validation. Cant believe in COVID-weary 2021 when we are not supposed to make non-essential journeys, , the company hasn't managed to program their website to accept their own gift vouchers. Customer service only seems to answer the phones during a rather limited window too. Disappointing.
Absolutely disgusted with the “ service “ of Bettys . Ordered a fruit cake to be posted for my mothers 80th birthday from her Grandson . Did so in plenty of time due to Covid 19 delays . Rang to order and upgraded to arrive before her birthday . Whey cake didn’t arrive emailed and told someone would “get back to me in 10 minutes“ . No response but an email reply some 2 hours later stating my order “had been forgotten “. Promised a hamper to my upset mother “as an apology “ on a set day ... the date passed with no sign . Rang Bettys again ... was told the matter “would be looked into“ by a rude young man . Hamper apparently “ delayed in warehouse”. Parcel eventually arrived some days later with the personal message card from my teenage son missing ... ! As loyal customers of Bettys for years my family will not be visiting or using any of their services again . Complete shambles and catalogue of errors . If they can’t operate a reliable service in the current climate they shouldn’t offer one at all. Will use M & S next time ... products arrive on time.
Ordered an expensive Christmas Hamper on 2nd December for delivery to Germany. It wasn't despatched until 22nd December. No one answered the phone when I tried calling to find out where it was. When I eventually got an explanation for the delay via email I was told it was my fault because I'd chosen a delivery date the week after Christmas I didn't get to choose the date. On the website it now mentions stock shortages and entirely predictable delivery issues to EU. Appalling service, incredibly disappointing.
I struggled to find a traditional fruit cake with marzipan and icing for our Golden Wedding but found Betty's by Post just in time. A very helpful lady advised me on the size of cake required and the decoration options. The cake arrived on time and was beautifully packed. It was very moist and delicious. I would certainly use Betty's by Post again. Ref: 3198036
Cakes didn't arrive as scheduled, they didn't co-ordinate with the post office that they could be left, gave us an apology and a credit for the cakes as when we managed to get them form the post office they were out of code. Don't rely on them passing on specific instructions to the post office if you live in a rural area. Won't order from them again
Ruined my partners birthday, cake was bone dry stale and the cake tasted of nothing but sugar, had supermarket cakes that tasted better. I made a complaint only to have to foot the bill to send it back so an investigation could be carried out. Customer service is appalling. DO NOT BUY, INEDIBLE. Would give 0 stars
Excellent. Sent a thank you gift. It arrived in top condition on time. Beautiful presentation made it special. The recipient was really delighted. Would use the delivery service again for gifts.
Spent a week in York and always looked forward to my lunch at Betty's Have received Xmas Hampers from a client for the last three years and Betty's Tea has become a family favourite. Open one in London please?
