Both my daughter and I recently used this hotel as a base for a few days. Although we now live in Manchester, I’m originally from Glasgow and still have family there, so we were visiting regularly during our stay.nFrom the moment we walked through the doors, we felt incredibly welcome. The gentleman on reception, who I believe may have been one of the owners, immediately engaged with my daughter , and that was the first sign of the fabulous service we were about to receive.nWe saw the same gentleman again at breakfast the next morning. My daughter has coeliac disease, and he went out of his way to accommodate her. On the first morning, he kindly provided her with an oat bar. The following day, he had even gone out to get gluten-free porridge after we mentioned it was one of her favourites. That level of thoughtfulness really meant a lot to us.nThe room was excellent value for money , cosy, comfortable, and perfect for our needs. Eaglesham is a lovely area, and we felt completely safe throughout our stay.nOverall, this is a brilliant little hotel that I must have driven past countless times when I lived in Glasgow , and I’m so glad we finally stayed. Top service, cosy rooms, fantastic value for money, and we will definitely be returning as a family.nThank you for such wonderful hospitality
Nice hotel. Rooms were well-appointed, but lacking a little attention-to-detail.nnPositives: Stayed in room 30. The bed was comfortable, room warm and the road outside quiet.nnThe breakfast was good, and the staff pleasant and attentive.nnDownsides: Arrived at 8.30pm on a Friday night and was immediately informed kitchen was closed and no options for food or snacks.nnShower was poor, water pressure and variable temperature. Shower door wouldn't stay closed properly, so door constantly popped open leading to water/spray all over the floor.nnInformed receptionist and he showed me the workaround to ensure water temp stayed constant admittedly with poor water pressure.nnCouldn't get the TV remote to work the TV. Needs/needed new batteries, so was stuck on the golf channel. Not a massive deal.nnScratching sounds from the eaves above the room. Reckon there are birds/pigeons nesting in there - was a little unnerving at first and annoying at midnight but upon check out receptionist said it's part of their weekly checks.nnPart-and-parcel of being in an older charming building versus a bigger chain-style hotel I guess.
We have stayed here a few times with my husband’s work and every time we’ve had an exceptional stay. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, good heating and great water pressure from the shower! Breakfast is freshly cooked and really tasty and the service is outstanding. Whoever owns/runs this hotel has put a huge amount of thought into making guests feel welcome and comfortable and has trained the staff really well.
Had a really lovely family lunch here, the service and food was great. And the January set menu was excellent value for money. We will return soon to try the Sunday roast.
Nice hotel/restaurant and room was adequate for what we needed. 1 night stay when we were in Glasgow for a wedding a few weeks ago. Reason for the low rating is that we were woken on a Monday morning at approximately 7am with the noise of renovations in the room next door. The wall connecting the room was being sanded down and just generally very noisy. Totally understand the need to renovate rooms from time to time but don’t do it when the room next door is occupied, or wait until after the check out time. Not everyone wants to be up early when they are on a night away for a wedding.nnI had emailed the hotel with the complaint but have received no response at all, this is why I have decided to send in the poor review. Even an acknowledgment and apology would have sufficed, but to completely ignore me is poor service in my opinion. This was around 4 weeks ago so absolutely the hotel has had time to respond.
