I took this place because it had great reviews. The room was quaint and clean. I could hear every neighbour when they either left or came home. The walls are paper thin. The service was very nice. I had a great view. So I guess it depends what is more important sleep or the view.

The hotel is ideally located along The Leas, within easy walking distance of the town centre and harbour, and near bus stops for the 102 bus every 15 minutes to Hythe and Dover.nThe hotel is nearing the end of a renovation; they are still working on the first floor but that did not disturb us at all. The upper floors are renovated with the 2nd floor having the largest rooms - as the building is long and thin there are only 3 rooms looking directly over the sea, while from the rest there is a sideways view. There is air conditioning, so we couldn't open the windows.nBreakfast is until 9.30 weekdays and 10 weekends, and includes everything we wanted. There is a bar, a small Costa outlet and a Marco Pierre White steak house inside, which we ate at once and enjoyed. There are plenty of other good restaurants within easy walking distance.nFinally I mention Philippa at reception who was very helpful with our reservation and special requests for my wife's birthday.
We use this hotel regularly.nThe location is great . Parking a bit of a nightmare. But u can park outside if there is a space and buy a ticket.nRooms varies in size .our was rather squashed we stayed 4 nights . .staff are pleaseant.nBar manager is lovely .
Undergoing extensive work on the 3rd floor, with decor in the narrow corridors to the rooms in need of some attention, it also has a very small lift making it interesting!!!nHowever I thought the rooms were very well kept, affording great views, the food was extremely good, what really made it for me was the fact the staff were super helpful, friendly and welcoming, the only reason I scored a 4 overall was the fact of the work going on and the decor in some places.nOverall a great stay,Thank You.
