Just used the standard class waiting room on the platform for a few minutes on a bitterly cold day. Fabulous place.. warm and cosy. Christmas tree up an nicely decorated. Big appreciation to those responsible!

The fact that so many people are happy about this underwhelming facility shows only how low expectations have fallen in this country.
Possibly why travelling in Europe tends to be such a culture shock.

I am giving the station one star and it’s because of the very unpleasant abrupt lady in the shop/cafe. Having missed breakfast we thought we’d head into shop to find food and a hot drink so chose a sandwich which needed heating “IM COOKING” was the explanation from the lady when I produced the food “8 minutes “ “IM COOKING” why not say I’m sorry my oven is busy but if you don’t mind waiting I can cook your food it’ll be around 8 minutes, very unpleasant woman who lost at least a £10 sale with her attitude.

Went after 10 a.m. to buy tickets for journey in a few weeks, ticket office closed... on a MONDAY !! Asked at adjoining cafe and cafe worker was so undecipherable with her heavy foreign accent, I couldn't understand a word. Now they expect you to go on line to book. I'm an OAP, not that up on computers. But no, life is now taken over by technology, no people to talk to. Really disgusted. Oh, and looked to park, only  two meters to buy tickets from , a long distance apart . Happened that one wasn't working. Meant long trek to other meter. Not good for OAP , especially if disabled. Very poorly run. Well, not run at all. A disgrace. The Council moved down South so us here in the north of the county are just abandoned.
