Bank holiday Monday - BUT it was not busy!! There was not many members of staff of staff on at all. The carvery looked dry and like it had been out for a while so we decided to go for meals off the menu. We placed the order at 2.55 and were told the wait for food was 30 minutes and 6 minutes for a piece of cake. After an hour of waiting we spoke to some lad with tattoos and he said “it's an hour wait on food” to which we said oh well it wasn't when we ordered. Can we check when our order is ready? And he walked off in a huff!! And he said it was being plated up. Then the food came. Cold cake and ice cream on a hot plate!! So the ice cream was already melting! Interesting choice. The meals came and they served me a well-done rib-eye instead of rare. I sent it back and they then refunded the steak which they didn’t need to but that was nice and made me a new one but there was no rib-eye left so I had to eat sirloin, and wait whilst everyone else was eating. The gentleman that came and refunded the meal was lovely. But the others were not the best. I understand that they are under pressure and I am thankful for them refunding the meal and correcting the mistake but it says something that the Korean BBQ sauce is the best thing on your plate. Because it certainly is not the peppercorn sauce, the look alone put the whole table off. See below picture. And the cutlery was not very clean, we took ages to find a clean fork. I am very disappointed and we wont be coming back to this branch. BUT my steak when it came was lovely!! Thanks chef.
Good range on menu, pretty much all pub favourites at good prices. Carvery options are good value, particularly in the week, and quality is always consistent. Large range of veg and sides. Always great friendly, service Plenty of seating, and ample parking in the onsite carpark. Would definitely recommend.
A delightful place to have a meal. Delicious cakes for that afternoon coffee break. Meet friends for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I came for breakfast & brought my nan as a treat for her as she doesn’t get out much and I was so disappointed! On the way there she even said to me that we should just go to a local cafe as she had a bad experience at Berry brook last year on Mother’s Day, but I said no the reviews look good.nnNo no no!nWhy offer a buffet breakfast if you can’t keep up with customer demand??nWaited up there for 5 minutes as all the pots were empty, then bacon was brought out and there wasn’t enough for the amount of people waiting so we had to just have hash brown & beans whilst we waited for the rest to be cooked again. Eggs undercooked and coffee was that cold the sugar didn’t even dissolve ‍ I never write reviews usually but on this occasion it’s needed because what a waste of money!nWe won’t be returning, ever.
Brilliant! Mixed grill was cooked to an exceptional standard. Always a wait to get a carvery BUT it is definitely worth the wait, just for there Yorkie puds alone and even there chocolate eclair... It's Huge!. Good quality food cooked right. Staff are a credit. Very attentive, tend to your needs. High customer service level. We love going here. Reasonable prices for food and drink, family friendly atmosphere, nice and quiet. Dogs allowed outside. Beer garden is great out the back and the family area is spot on for the kids. Love it here
