Despite waiting 6 hours in A&E the treatment I received after I was called was world class in every way from communication to medical attention. The Dr even stayed 2 hours after his shift ended as he wanted to see my initial investigations through. Note to those waiting in A&E: If you have to wait for a long time to be seen it’s because they are providing quality care to those inside, you will receive the same so be patient!
I recently spent three days at Belmont Hospital and I found all the staff to be excellent. From admission to surgery, recovery, and time spent on the ward I felt well cared for and secure. I do think the health system that they have to work with needs some fixing, but everyone I encountered was professional, courteous, and caring.
I cannot speak highly enough of my recent procedure at Belmont Hospital. The lead up to it, and on the day they went over and beyond, they are a tremendous team that made me feel so calm because they took me step by step through everything. A Big Thank You All . You make a hard time so much easier. Jenenne X
My daughter was presenting exactly as she has when had previous been septic and despite telling them this and her presenting with 39 temp that won't break she still wasn't a priority and was left waiting for ages. Ended up leaving to take her else where. In all honesty do not waste your time going here. Not my first poor experience either. Sent my partner home 17 weeks pregnant miscarrying instead of doing a d and c or organizing for her to jhh if they weren't capable and she a very serious infection from retained products. Poor form honestly. Don't blame them they're under staffed and under paid and this is the bloody government cutting corners and not funding hospitals properly with the resources or staff.
My recent experience in the ED, arrived 8am to have an existing condition investigated. Less than 1 hour wait time. Staff were very kind and courteous. Can't fault the treatment I received.
I brought an elderly family friend here a while back, they had to wait a very long time to have a special type of medical consultation. The area where we had to wait was quite dirty, but the place where they sell bears is nice.
I think the name was Belinda at the service desk, but she was down right one of the rudest people I have ever come across. She talked to the lady infront of me as if she was stupid then started to belittle me aswell. I asked my question politely, was patient and she just immediately went cold and passive aggressive. It's actually insane to think this women is working at the information desk. I was talked to as if I was a rabid dog.
This was my fourth op. at Belmont Hospital and once again I thank the all the Staff in several departments for there wonderful Duty Of Care. I was in a room with 3 other very dependent patients and the Staff were never to busy to answer their needs. Thank you all.
Wasn't seen in ED within 4hrs so I left, but I'll give them credit for being the only hospital I've visited in quite a while that hasn't discriminated against me not wearing a mask from an exemption. Other hospitals hound youb & make you wait with infected people. They also don't expect you to take a useless PCR test to be seen in ED like The Mater. PCR tests aren't designed to do what they're using them for. Look up the inventor of the PCR "Kary Mullis" who mysteriously died before the "pandemic", he quotes, "you can find almost anything in anybody." I hope Belmont have seen through the BS as to why they're not doing it anymore.
This hospital used to be my go to before JHH However that’s changed now. I presented here yesterday 11/06/22 after passing what looks like pieces of placenta 6 months Post partum , waited six hours in ED we finally seen a doctor and showed him some photos and another lady who I’m assuming is a specialist, she agreed it was tissue of some sort and needed to have an ultrasound to determine if a miscarriage or placenta still inside of me. I was told to call up the following morning at 7.30am When I called at 7.30am I was told ‘we don’t open ultrasound until 8.00am please call back. I called back at 8.03am and was told nobody had arrived yet and to try again in ten minutes. I called back again and was told to ring at 8.30am , did that then was told to ring at 9am,when I finally got through I was told to come in at anytime , so I arrived at 9.30 and was told no one could see me until 10.30am , when nurse was apologising about the confusion she said that the staff in ED are on a rotating roster and probably get very confused with times of opening hours ect …. If they’re confused about times and can’t remember that , I hope I don’t end up needing them to save my life one day if they’re incapable of something so simple. I have my 6 month old baby with me also which is why I needed times to be a bit more accurate, hospital isn’t exactly where I want him hanging out . When asking other staff how the results work we were told ‘could take hours for you to be seen’ which we were aware of already Unprofessional and not organised
