Story

Beetham Nurseries near Milnthorpe was established in 1984. The Plant, Garden Centre, Cafe, Food Shop and new Growing Nursery are family owned and run by Stephen and Lesley Abbit. The Growing Nursery is the newest addition to the family business and has been built to mark the 30th anniversary year.

Well worth a visit, plant are of a superior quality. And lots to view in store. All great place to eat out at two lovely options
Good quality of plants, many at very reasonable prices. They also have some specimen plants, but they are much more expensive. The cafe was busy on a wet afternoon but we managed to get a table and enjoyed some hot drinks.
Very good garden centre. Particularly like that they grow so much of what they sell themselves. The "shop" part is like many others with wide range of products and excellent cafe. The real gem for me is the adjacent garden area where plants raised there are laid out alphabetically according to their botanical names, with heights, flowering times, descriptions, etc. The vast majority are perennials, with an occasional offering like named varieties of dahlia, of annuals or biennials. We'll worth a visit if you know your plants.
Had the opportunity to attend an air dried clay craft class, travelled from Derbyshire and this was a worth well experience. The ,tutor,Nicki, was friendly, very approachable and just a thoroughly lovely day. The garden itself was one to revisit! Friendly staff, accommodating. The nursery itself is a must for plant lovers just remarkably well stocked with quality well tendered to plants!!!! Mustn’t forget the lunch served and tea and cake in the afternoon. Is a definite to return . Pat Makin and Sheila Smith . Must mention Jenny, helpful from the beginning and welcoming. Communication before excellent.
Just got home from Beetham after attending the enjoyable and informative talk from the gentleman from David Austin Roses. He was an excellent and entertaining speaker. We will be visiting their nursery very soon.
Rating for the café. Very disappointing, lovely staff but the meal was spoilt by pre seasoned chips, far too much salt. We weren't the icky ones to leave them. If you want a coffee and cake then great, they looked lovely
Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Joanne who was very kind and prevented me of having a possible accident trying to carry heavy things on my bike by suggesting that there is the option to get things delivered! I didn’t know of this special service and that one can by online as well! Thank you Joanne!
Lovely place to buy plants or enjoy a great coffee, cakes, or lunch. Top notch food, cooked fresh on site.
