If this is the 'new' face of public friendly policing.... it is not working. You call the number and go through a standard process of selecting specific numbers for various options. I on this occasion selected the custody suite. One perhaps that given the nature of the location it may have somebody manning the desk? The phone rang for about 10 minutes during which time a computerised voice told me they were still trying to connect me. Eventually got fed up and hung up. Perhaps there was a major riot going on in the custody suite which required every single police officer? Or maybe they are under staffed. Who knows. Whatever it is - the service is abysmal. I suspect the Chief Constable is being told by other staff that the system is working well and is therefore unaware that the system is failing miserably. If she knew the real truth, I am sure she will have addressed the issue.
Very poor customer service, wife's handbag was stolen and when we went to the police station to report it they put her on a phone in the reception area to the HQ in Kempston! Now closed and replaced with an enquiry "shop" in Lime Street.
Supposed to be open from 10am... waited 15 minutes, no one answered the "emergency button" & phone call. The place is looking absolutely filthy and the customer service is a joke. Sad.
I'm disgusted by how not one officer or staff member can even simply answer the phone in the custody suite!! I have been attempting to get through for 4hours and am sitting here worried with no answer!! it's just ringing and ringing.. Terrible.
What can I say, Bedfordshire is the worst performing police force in England and Wales,
I met one rude police officer there three months ago
