Thank you for one of the best steaks of my life. Melt in the mouth is an understatement! The chips, peppercorn sauce and veg were all delicious also. The cocktails were fabulous as always. Made my birthday a very special one, thank you again.
The new menu looks great. I tried the fire cracker chicken thigh to start, which was succulent and nicely spiced. For my main course, I had the prawn Goan curry, which was excellent, one of the nicest curries I've had, all the flavours were well balanced. Dessert was a light and not over the top rich sticky toffee pudding. Will definitely visit again soon as there were a few more choices on the menu I would like to try. Atmosphere was relaxed, and service was friendly and attentive.
Dined on Valentine’s Day and was looking forward to a nice romantic meal. Unfortunately from the start we were made to feel rushed and unwelcome. Being told on entering they were very busy, we only had 90 minutes and to order quickly was a poor start. We then ordered a small plate between us and was told it would come before the mains. We had to wait for plates to eat the small plate and by the time we got those the mains had been bought out so we were now Sat rushing down the small plate whilst our mains got cold and we tried not to knock anything off the tiny tanks for two. We had all our food 20 minutes after sitting down which is way to fast and left us feeling like an inconvenience. We slowed down after our mains to try and at least have a chance to chat. The waiters were all in scruffy t shirts and tracksuit trousers which seemed an odd choice for a Restaurant that seems to be trying to be fancy. Again it took away from the evening. When we left there were lots of tables free so we shouldn’t have been rushed but from the start to the end it felt like they were just wanting to get you in and out. Food was fine. Not many prawns in the prawn curry and small portions but tasty. Can’t recommend though because of service.
First of the food was beautiful and couldn’t fault it. Staff weren’t overly friend or accommodating, could hear them talking about other customers very unprofessional. The service just wasn’t as good as expecting for the money your paying. The guy with the curly air seemed to know what he was doing, shame he wasn’t the one serving us, we couldn’t even get a smile out of our waitress. Was ment to be retuning this week with friends and have cancelled booking since.
I'm really sorry I was so disappointed . Last time I visited 10 years ago lived outside of UK since. Read lots of reviews had sharing platter for 4 between 3 Sunday roast. Food cold not enough gravy had to ask for condiments took a while whilst food even colder not served on hot plates. Positives nice decor comfy great quick service initially. I feel over priced not enough attention to detail. I also found one member of staff very rude for absolutely no reason actually quite took me back !
Just had Sunday late lunch ! Roast dinner was served on a board which was fabulous and my dessert was delicious. The staff was kind and courteous a breath of fresh air . Thank you for making my Sunday perfect ! Vegetarian options: Great veggies and vegetarian choice Kid-friendliness: The kids were happy Parking: I parked for free just around the corner .
I am not normally one to complain but had such a terrible experience my mother in law had the veggie option for a roast and it took over an hour to come out when we per ordered a few days before hand , when it did come out she found a peace of Turkey under her vegetable absolutely disgusted!!! The servers were so rude I have never had an experience like this. We opened a tab when we came to eat and they asked for my mother in laws id to open the tab and once we have paid we would get it back when we came to pay it completely slipped her mind that they have got her id and they did not give it back to her , once we have got home thank god we remembered that she didn’t get her id back so we went back down there and it was a few minutes before it was about to close she went in and the man who was serving us was cashing up and she explained that she didn’t get her id back and that she wants it and the man was LYING!!! Saying that he gave it to one of the other ladies who we was with but he didn’t , so he asked her to wait one sec so he could finish cashing up ?!?!? But after 20 longgg minutes the man lifted up the till and “found” her id wrapped up in paper ?!?! Not too sure what to think of this very strange and suspicious.
We stayed one night at this well presented,cosy and professionally run accommodation, in a great location. Room 6 was spacious and well appointed, bed comfortable and room contained everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Staff helpful. One downside, we stayed on a Monday evening, so missed the bar/ restaurant being open.
Our server 'Bonbon' was very kind, professional, and polite, service was very fast and food was amazing! Our only fault was the manager, we overheard him being very rude to his staff, very unprofessional, and having an attitude to his staff infront of the customers. The staff did very well at dealing with it professionally and not making a scene. Again, the place itself, the food and staff not including the manager were excellent and couldnt fault them one bit! Thank you bonbon for making our visit perfect!!
Such bad service with unfriendly disinterested staff. We went to Becketts to have brunch but the service was slow and disorganised. They took our order for coffee but made it and left it on the bar. My partner had to collect it. We wanted to order food but was told twice, "they will be with us". They weren't busy and had one table of 4. We left without having food.
