Established twenty years ago by Maggie Robin, Bear Necessities Fashion, located on two floors, with lots of space to browse our extensive range of stock for mother of the bride & groom. We also provide a wide selection of hats, shoes, bags, jewellery to accessorize your outfit. We pride ourselves in having sizes from 8 to 24.
Bear Necessities is situated in the picturesque town of Auchterarder which is easily accessible from all of the country as it is just off the motorway between Stirling and Perth, has excellent rail links to Gleneagles Station. Visit our contact page for more information on how to locate us.

Disappointing Despite receiving excellent service during my visit, unfortunately Bear Necessities does not honour its own published return and refund policy. After returning my dress in mint condition and within the required 2-week period, I was refused a refund because I didn’t inform them of my intention beforehand. This is not included as a requirement in their policy and therefore contravenes consumer rights. The right to clear and honest information before you buy Beware!! Make sure you fully intend to keep your dress before you buy it and pray that no immediate, unfortunate circumstances arise where you no longer need it.
Had a wonderful experience today in Bear Necessities, served by Alison who was attentive, informed, kind and who knew what suited me better than I did.!!! Arrived without prior appointment as I'd only vis ited Auchterarder to buy a steak pie . Left with a beautiful outfit for my daughters wedding. I would happily recommend this lovely store to anyone looking for something special for a special occasion. Thanks again to Alison for her help today
Bought my mother of the Bride outfit from Bear Necessities. And was very pleased with my purchases. The staff was so friendly and helpful. And the owner was so lovely and friendly. The shop stocks lovely casual clothing and bags too. I had a wonderful experience in this shop, and would highly recomend this shop. I would not hesitate to shop here again. Thank you ladies. Had an absolutely fantastic experience today. I visited with my mum and we were both really impressed. Maggie was an absolute joy to be around and her experience and professionalism of clear to see. What a charming and lovely woman. We felt totally looked after and found a stunning outfit for my mum. Thank you so much. X
Absolutely brilliant shop. Bear Accessories was recommended to myself and my mum as a place to buy her mother of the bride dress. Linda made the whole experience very special. Not only did she help pick a beautiful dress for my mum but she also made her feel at ease. The shop itself is cosy and has a really welcoming ambience. The price is very reasonable for the high quality of dresses that they provide. I would highly recommend, especially if you get a little bit nervous trying on dresses etc.
Wide range of ladies clothing and accessories with fantastic staff who are very helpful and knowledgeable. From casual to cocktail they have something for every occassion.
This shop is spectacular. I had no idea that the upstairs is so spacious and plush. I went in to try on a dress I had seen in the window a few weeks prior. The customer service was second to none and I was treated like royalty. In particular I would recommend this boutique for Mother of the Bride or Groom shopping. If you want a truly wonderful experience of trying on luxurious, expensive clothing of superb quality, then this is the place to go in Auchterarder. The level of customer service is sadly lacking in most other local stores. Keep up the amazing work. Can't wait to return.
