We had a great day out here. The kids loved building dens, the park, and walking up the hill. It was a great place to enjoy some peace in nature. Good areas for picnics. Parking was not a problem- plenty of spaces. We went during school holidays. Picnic area: Spacious picnic area. Take your rubbish home with you as there are no bins, so be prepared with a bin bag if you need one.
Always a great place to go for a walk. You'll pass through woodland and then emerge onto Beacon Hill, with fantastic views of the local area whilst surrounded by highland cattle. There's a cafe onsite, and usually an ice cream van. There can be queues for the parking ticket machine.
It’s a lovely up hill walk with fantastic views at the top. There are some benches on the way up to catch your breath if you need to or just to enjoy some views or the kids playing . At the top I love looking at the sign which tells you which direction places are & how far away they are. Especially when the weather is good as you can see quite a distance from the top of the hill. It’s a great place for families & dogs aswell. My kids enjoyed the park & we enjoyed our snacks from the cafè. There are plenty of benches to sit at outside the cafè or areas to picnic. Toilets were decent when I used them. Like most country parks these are only accessible whilst the cafè is open.
A great place to walk with some beautiful scenery. Very tranquil and peaceful. Nice cafe to grab some lunch and a drink. The labyrinth garden is nice. Reasonably priced parking at top and bottom of park.
Came here to try somewhere new to have a walk in the countryside.most of the paths are tarmac which is good and the ones that aren't are gravel stoned..There was several different walks you could do ranging from quite flat to more of a hill walk to get to the summit. None of it's super hilly though. There are several car parks to choose from,A cafe is there with nice food from sandwiches to sausage rolls etc. also cakes and hot drinks. You can sit inside or there benches outside on a warm day. There was toilets at the cafe but not many so there can be quite a queue. For children there was a play area, and open space if wanting to kick a ball around. It's dog friendly as there was loads of people walking there dogs and I believe you can also buy dog treats from the cafe as well. I enjoyed my walk here and will come back again.you have to pay for the car park when you leave, costs vary depending on how long your there. Restrooms: Toilets in the cafe but can be a queue.did see more toilets at one of the other car parks as I walked round Dog-friendliness: Lots of people walking there dogs here. Picnic area: Was quite a few picnic tables outside the cafe.
It is an absolutely lovely nature park, nice clean from litter woods with lots of activities like well maintained playgrounds and restrooms. I would deffo go there with kids If I were you. I added some pictures from the drone as you can see how huge the park is and how greeny the woods are. Playground: It is really well maintained and is suitable for all kinds of age. Restrooms: Really clean and tidy. Dog-friendliness: Really friendly park for dogs Picnic area: It has a lovely picnic area and benches all around the woods.
Views are spectacular walks are great with some harder than others. Will be back soon to try a new route. Cafe small and busy, food and service great. Lots of parking, which is pay on exit.
Been for a lovely walk with the dogs today. To say this is on my door step and never been before is crazy. There is a decent tarmac path around the walk so there is no need to have to walk on the grass unless you want to we did. Great views of the surrounding area and there is a dial on a plinth which explains what is in which direction. Met loads of dogs which my two loved and made new friends. Plenty of dog poo bins around. Parked in the upper car park and spent around two hours walking here, parking is paid for on way out by card or cash. Will be back again with the dogs soon.
Very nice place to visit. Acres of open space and maintained trails to peruse, with excellent views from the top of the hill. Clearly marked trail to the top from the lower or upper car parks. The forested area has a trail for children with carved sculptures. Can be muddy in the winter so dress for the weather. Playground: Good playground just below the lower parking lot. Restrooms: Toilets at the lower car park and in the cafe. Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcomed.
Lovely park to explore and different things to see. There are some beautiful paths with trees lining either side and in the autumn it's just perfect. A few cafes dotted around as well, so plenty of places to stop for a coffee. The park is dog friendly, but they recommend having him on the leash in a lot of areas. Beautiful park with stunning views and I will definitely be coming back.
