Battlefield Rest

We had a lovely lunch here in December while restrictions allowed. The food was all really good and it was hard to choose. The restaurant was a bit chilly at times due to ventilation with doors open. Hope to come back when we're able to, and enjoy the wine list too!

Had a great lunch there today with family. Beef cheeks with pasta was real highlight. Menu is always very well thought out. Staff working well under extra pressures of Covid. I like supporting local family run restaurants. Online booking is a bonus.

Had a lovely lunch today. We wanted lunch with the children and their partners so Marco arranged three seperate tables for us but close enough to be able to chat. The food and service was impecible as always. Thank you to all the staff. Merry Christmas Helen and Allan Dawson

What an absolute gem! Step back in time and enjoy delicious Italian food in this original waiting room from the days of horse drawn trams. The family have run this cosy but smart little restaurant for 25 years, sitting on an island in the traffic! Don't miss this if you're in the area!

Always very lovely. Try their pizza! Much better than Domino's and only a £10! Loaded with quality ingredients. Beef cheeks and roasted peppers is a must try

First time back since lock down for a take away and it was fantastic. We have missed the battlefield rest all these months and are so pleased they have reopened. Great food, great value and fantastic staff. We will be back soon.

Like my second dining room. Lots of good meals in here and always feel comfortable and relaxed. The odd indifferent/complacent meal but cant mark down because of the good memories.
