We had such a lovely few days away at this little place. We stayed at the Pemberley Lodge which was very spacious, lots of helpful utilities and cozy. The location may be rural but we enjoyed that as we felt we were far away from the hustle and bustle yet still only being 10 mins drive from the city centre. We would definitely stay again.
Stayed at Bath Mill Lodge Retreat 3 times, July 2020, December 2021 and December 2022. It’s in a stunning location, very easy access to Bath, Bristol, Wells, etc. As a self-catering destination it’s useful to find a Lidl, M&S Food Hall and Sainsbury’s just 10 minutes away by car. It is worth noting that over the last two years we have noticed a decline in the lodges. Our lodge was missing a two seater sofa that existed previously, the underfloor heating in the bathroom has stopped working, the inbuilt Bluetooth speaker system was not operating, there were water marks in the ceiling from obvious leaks and lights were temperamental, flickering on and off. All this being said, the lodges are of a very high quality, very comfortable and well worth the money. I’ve just noticed the deterioration and hope that maintenance is carried out to restore the luxurious experience previously enjoyed. The location is stunning, the brook running alongside the park offers beautiful views and visits from herons, kingfishers, squirrels, kites and other wildlife visitors. The bar/restaurant has a very cosy feel, we enjoyed a meal there and were pleased with the price and quality. The only downside is the very early 8.30pm bar closing time. We enjoy visiting locations during the day and would welcome a drink in the evening but often found that by the time we’d got back to the lodge, cleaned up and ready for a drink the bar was closed or near closing. We are likely to stay again in the future, as I said previously the price is good and the standard is high.
Had a roast dinner here and excellent experience. Beautiful location, tasty food reasonably priced and friendly staff. We will be back, a great find.Service: 5/5
We had a really good getaway here. The lodges are roomy and clean. The pub on site is good for drinks but food wasn't particularly excitingRooms: 4/5
Lodge was very nice but being £15 for the worst pie I’ve ever seen was a bit difficult to swallow. It was more like a beef soup with a bit of pastry shoved on top. Manager was very surprised we didn’t like it. Disappointing customer service.
Stayed here for a weekend and it was filthy!!! I made a complaint about it and nothing got sorted. It ruined my birthday weekend! There’s was stains on the bedding, the toilet was dirty. It’s just not worth booking!Rooms: 1/5
Wouldn’t recommend. My lodge was absolutely filthy, staff refused to clean it when I asked politely. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The food was microwave meals but charged a fortune for it! When I tried to talk to staff and sent an email expressing my complaint they was rude and extremely unhelpful. For the price I paid I am absolutely disgusted. Do not stay here.
This is our second weekend away with our 9 month old puppy and compared to the first, this is 100 times better! The first claimed to be dog friendly but just felt like a very run down, end of life lodge, whereas this one has clearly been designed by a dog lover, for dog lovers. The open plan layout was great and the hardwood floor a must! Having the doors lead to a securely enclosed decking was genius - our pup loves to lay outside and not having to worry about whether or not he could escape, was priceless we had to make sure the chairs were pushed under the table though!. Our pup loved sleeping by the toilet, where it was nice and cool and made himself at home on the bed, of which I thought the white linen was very brave choice! The lovely touches we weren't expecting upon arrival, were the letter to our puppy with a few poop bags, a pack of biscuits and a toy, along with the food and drink bowls to use during our stay. The lodge included the usual, toilet roll, tea and coffee, toiletries, towels, and a kitchen pack for washing up. There was a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. An ironing board with iron and a hairdryer. The full length mirror and vanity mirror/dressing table were a very welcome addition the last placed lacked those. No cooker, but this was clearly stated so we weren't disappointed by this - and who wants to cook when you're on holiday anyway? The setting was beautiful with the stream running through the site and plenty of places to roam with the pup. We will definitely be coming back when the weather is a little cooler and we can explore a little more throughout the day.
We love this place. Our 3rd visit and always a fantastic stay. Quiet, tidy and the staff very friendly and accommodating. A stone's throw from Bath so great for sight seeing and shops. Highly recommend
stayed in the norland lodge clean and tidy ideal for a couple, only slight criticism theres no hob or oven but you do get used to it, staff very nice highly recommended.
