I called and a guy told me that they close at 7:00PM today. I am here at 6:35 and they denied allowing me in. Unreliable. I had to spend 30 minutes walking.
I live in Sydney the home of the greatest coffee shops in the world. Apart from one. That is Bateel serving the best coffee I have ever had anywhere in the world and my wife agrees. On the rare occasions we visit England Bateel is the first place we go to. It's our little secret - well it was until this review!
Lovely hidden gem in New Bond Street. Friendly staff, great coffee, delicious dates, chocolates and biscuit, plus extremely reasonably prices. Great for a break between shopping sessions!
The standard at Bateel has dropped, the staff seem very unmotivated and uncaring. Kicking the front to close it, kicking and pushing boxes across the shop while customers are around. One of the guys looks around threatening at other staff seem to ignore customers. I did not feeling like staying here whilst the staff bashed cutlery and utensils behind the counter. Oh he let out a big yawn too! Maybe this was not a good day to come : Some weird staff issues here.
The company it's very rich from Saudi Arabia one chocolate plasters cost £500 But the staff get payed minimum wage.thats very very bad. value your company by value your staff.
It doesn't get better than this for Dates . I recommend you try the chewy Kholas if you like the natural taste of caramel. I also recommend the sweet sweet Sokari variety.
They don't do Arabic coffee as it should be but still they got good dates
Good dates, but quite expensive and service could be better.
