Story

Established in the early 1880’s, Basil Sheils was one of the last bottles houses (no draft beer) in Ireland. However, over recent years Basil Sheils has evolved immensely from the small traditional Irish bar to something quite special


You will discover a unique, warm and inviting venue that provides great food, great drink and a great atmosphere. Basil Sheils main objective is to provide its guests with a warm welcoming and pleasant experience that will make you want to return again and again….

A traditional pub with youth and life mixed with age and antique charm, Basil Sheils has it all. It is a must to soak up the atmosphere and listen to the regularly told stories of today and days gone by, in front of the open fire in Basil’s original small bar. Every Saturday night throughout the year live bands perform in the newly furnished lounge, then in the summer months live music every Sunday evening with regular traditional sessions throughout the year.



The Forge Restaurant’s character features and touch of class makes it the perfect location for dining. Providing its guest with delicious food and fine wine followed by an evening of entertainment what more could you ask for.
