I've used this store for around 30 years. It's gone from a good local store to an established, well known and appreciated part of the community. Always get a hello from staff, and has evolved into a really good general store. Sophisticated is a word that I would not quite give a general store/off sales, but I think it was brilliant when they built a cold store for wines/beers/ciders etc. You buy nicely chilled from the shop and can enjoy right away. Why didn't someone do this before, so will done Barry's.
THE Post Office in this place will NOT ACCEPT prepaid parcels. The guy behind the counter made up some total garbage about it being a business prepaid postage and not a postage to be sent to the recipient named on the parcel!!!! Then in the same breath said that I could post it in a postbox, thus negating his previous statement!!!!! The parcel is too big for the postbox. Basically trying to get me to pay again for a parcel that is prepaid!!!! So not honouring the contract they have with the actual Post Office!!!!! Absolute chump who basically lied to my face, AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!
Great place, generally friendly staff. The only exception is one tall, gingerish who comes off as either incredibly rude or incredibly awkward. Either way he makes inappropriate comments about what you're purchasing or seems to belittle you for it. Tend to avoid going into the shop if I see him at the tills.
Has gone right down hill and I am not going back bad attitude. I never get asked for identification at post office but the person who was working on the post office today was rude and standoffish Also, shop is way too small regardless of how hard you try it’s very hard to navigate. I will take my business elsewhere.
Beer selection in particular is great, decent vegan options. Staff always dead sound and the patter on the FB is tremendous. 10/10.
The shops spotless, great deals, always have what you want, Post Office inside and a Cashline outside. Open till late, staff are polite helpful and friendly.
Don't use this place for Amazon deliveries. Went in to collect my parcel and they've lost it. They didn't know who to call or how to find it. So overall pretty useless.
Post office is never open, third attempt. Don’t waste your time
Good friendly staff always out to help you although I get teased a bit by the man in the Post office part all in good fun and spirit.
