Friendly and helpful staff, good level camping with ehu tents and camper vans in a large field. Facilities much improved since our last visit. Food is good and reasonably priced. The canal is very pretty and there are lots of good walks. Dog friendly but still many careless owners not picking up after their dogs to the detriment of the environment particularly for the local residents.
Been coming here on and off since I was 18, way back in 1997 when we used to camp out on nearby Knapp Hill. Glad to say it's lost none of its charm. The pub has seen few alterations over the years, but for the better and the campsite is now more purpose made than it once was,, again for the better. I've read reviews from some saying it was like arriving at a commune, well they obviously missed the point and the general spirituality of the place and are probably best sticking to their caravan and camping club sites. This has buckets more charm and personality but haters will never understand that. The pub food is still as generously portioned and tasty as it was in the 90s and the staff are friendly and helpful.
What a place! Lovely pub, lovely plots, lovely people. The site was clean and the hosts were super friendly. There is a play area for kids and dogs welcome but must be kept on leads. The on-site pub has premium lagers, wines and spirits and the food was home cooked and really tasty - I had the Whitebait and the Chilli Con Carne, and my boyfriend had the beef burger which looked delicious!
Beautiful spot for a pub. It also has its own camp site. It does good music too and live bands play there. Had my 21st birthday here and we had an excellent time many years ago.
I've been coming here on and off for nearly 20 years and watched as it has developed it's camping & B&B business - but at it's heart it's still a friendly and joyful pub with great food, beer and staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble, the food is constantly good, the beer is local and will blow your socks off and the surrounding area is jaw droopingly beautiful. What more could you want?
Popped into the Barge at Honeystreet for a bite of lunch today, service was quick, the sandwich we decided on was great value for money with lots of filling and a nice side salad alongside it. So nice sitting outside watching the barges going along. Great place as well if you've got a dog which many people did today.
We enjoyed the Sunday Nut Roast washed down with a couple of pints of lovely Stone Henge beer. Absolutely delicious food, great service and friendly atmosphere. Roast only cost £11 per person which is a bargain & came with a side of cauliflower cheese….hooray ! Highly recommended pub +++
Had our family wedding here . Booked in via messenger with Lenny. Very officiant and easy . Had a hard standing with electric hook up . Left my van lights on but was informed by camp staff straight away . Totally saved a hassle in the morning . Really busy with people and a band on in the pub . Lots of atmosphere. Recommend pre booking as gets busy . Lit a fire . Had a fun weekend .
Took the wife there Wed's 22/03 for a late birthday lunch. The kitchen was soon to close, and yet a warm welcome, prompt service, and the food was delicious! We would definitely recommend making the short trip. It's worthwhile
Stayed in campsite, if you like being crammed in next tent touched ours with music till 3am and drugs everywhere this place is for you. Wasn't the place for us as a family having to sit there eating tea listening to swearing and people doing gas! The glamping huts look nice and it's a shame as could be a lovely site.
