Good connection between London and Southampton. Over one hours train or National express bus. Went there and stayed over the night. Nice city and good shopping center. Good night life, plenty of pubs and restaurant. Highly recommended to visit this city.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Cool building that’s still left of the remaining walls that used to be in southampton. In the centre of town. Cool to see the lion statues there also that have recently be restored.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

Very quick visit to Southampton Bargate on a sunny Sunday morning. A couple of cafés and Coffee shops to choose from. A pleasant time to be had before the Sunday shopping madness.
The Bargate is still standing since Medieval times when Southampton town was just inside the 1 mile long walls. The lion statues have been updated recently & many tours of the city start here. If you look around the Bargate you will find some very old graffiti even from the prisoners which were housed here. So much history!Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
It was buzzing today. Market stalls, the Lord Mayor accompanied by the Town Crier and a promotion of future walking tours by the Southampton Tourist Guides.Visited onWeekend
Beautiful and still standing. The lions of the Bargate are here to stay! However, around it the transformation is taking place. Not sure if it's going to be a positive or a negative outcome. We shall see!
