All that is missing is a wine bar in there! Staff starring at customers and gossiping. Whispering and laughing out loud. It really is a joke. Very unprofessional place. You feel unwelcome.
Shockingly bad - but then I am struggling to find a decent bank nowadays. Since they closed my local branch which was relatively ok I have to come to this one... bog standard reply is 'use your app'. No, I want to discuss with a real person my banking needs
Absolutely shocking customer service , one cashier open, one Atm working . one wandering Barclays person supposedly there to help but was of no help. queue of about 12 people. Barclays have shut my branch so have to drive 10 miles to this one and wait nigh on 20 minutes to be told they only have £10 notes in the till with the staff blaming the pandemic and telling me this is the way it is now, so get used to it . Basically lump it ! WE'RE NOT INTERESTED IN OUR CUSTOMERS .
My wife went to the branch today to ask them to print off six months of bank statements. This is required by our son's mortgage Leander as we had transferred some money to him and need to show where this came from. A member of staff told my wife to do it via their banking app. We had tried to do this but it just would not work. Staff reply, "well it works for me". So, after some explaining, arguing, we were taking to a machine but could only print the last 3 months. Told again to go home a retry the banking app. I speed in, just to make clear that we can’t do it via the app and its very urgent we get this to my sons mortgage provider. So, we were then told to go the counter, 40 min wait, then told by the extremely unhelpful clerk that she could not print up to 6 months. Ask, "who told you I could". The Clerk then shouted at the member of staff and called her over and ask why we were told to que at the desk. It then took the clerk 15 mins to print the statements, walking very slowly back and forth to the printer, stopping for a drink on the way. I have sent this to Barclays as a complaint. If get a response I will put it on her. Natwest in Loughton printed off my bank statement no issues, not told to go home and do it yourself. All done in less than 5 mins.
Only reason I use Barclays is for work purposes. Normally use the Whitechapel branch. They have lots of staff. So clear that this branch needs support. Glad I bank elsewhere.
Clerks are either poorly trained or just very unlucky. Been in the bank waiting in the queue to see the clerks and on average each person is taking about 15-20 minutes. Everybody in the queue is annoyed. Some poor elderly lady in front of me is struggling to stand now, as she has been waiting for so long. Real same. My branch is Brentwood which provides a much shorter queuing times. Come on Loughton... you can do better than this.
Very difficult and obstructive staff. I feel uncomfotable being asked, quite loudly, how much money I need, at the door! Only one cashier working. A very poor show from Barclays today. I am sorry I even had to give any star rating at all!
Worst branch I ever been in my life. Rude staff long queue clueless people I went to report my lost card they couldn't find me in the system told me to come back again with your bank statements and then they can block my card and I ask what if someone used it by then and the answer was we are sorry. Literally so annoying staff and so rude. I am thinking to close my account with Barclays and never suggest anyone else.
This branch seems almost like it's starting to fall down, it all feels a little worn out and run down. Staff were really friendly though, couldn't do enough to help me in opening an account. If recommend the bank to people now just off of the back of that.
When they bother to open, as it is frequently closed with no explanation given, there is only one counter staff. Will be looking for somewhere else to bank.
