A former coaching inn, now converted into an award-winning boutique hotel, restaurant, cafe and bar. Hearty Scottish and world food served all day.

Story

Banner’s House Hotel is a converted coaching inn at the heart of picturesque Markinch village near Glenrothes, Fife.

The five-bedroom hotel is just 40 minutes north of Edinburgh, on the edge of the Lomond Hills National Park.

The food in our restaurant is traditional Scottish combined with home-cooked world food our sister restaurant (Banner's Restaurant in Crouch End, London) is famous for.

The hotel opened in June 2014 after a six-month transformation. We are a small hotel run by a dynamic staff.

We pride ourselves on a warm welcome for all of our guests - whether on mini breaks, golf tours, guests at nearby weddings, or business travellers.

We hope to see you soon - in the restaurant, cafe, bar or hotel.

I have been to banners a few times and each time they have had a new menu with good vegetarian options, keeping things interesting for me rather than having the same food every time. I have been here with children and with adults and it has been great every time. The staff are so polite and friendly and the atmosphere is great. The place is beautiful as well, both inside and out in the small beer garden. I think it is lovely here.

Visited for a lunch time meal for 10 from our work. Meal pre ordered so was ready in advance. Quality of food was very good as was the service. Very enjoyable

Had a lovely time at Banners. Chef prepared a special antipasti for my friend and I, staff friendly and helpful and the star if the day - Mr Cocktail Maker and his lovely creations!

Stayed here 10+ times in he past 3 years, a brilliant hotel with excellent service. about 20 minutes drive from Edinburgh and there is a train station 20 paces away. perfectly located with ample parking
