Enjoyed a really nice 2 course Sunday lunch.reasonable price attentive staff and tasty food. Definitely worth a visit.
Good taste of all meats dishes. Nice service and fast. Nice interior and interesting view upon the street. I’ll go back.
Delicious and fresh food! Nice and friendly staff
The wine tasted like 3 for a tenner from local shop. Scallops frozen, one served raw. Crab tasted fishy and we were told it was provided by Kingfishers. Looked on google, could only find Kingfishers doing tinned crab. When asked again they offered to show proof it wasn't so I may be wrong. Tasted not fresh. Beef Wellington and lamb mains were nice though. Staff chatting round the bar, might just be a pet peeve of mine, highlighted because we were in early. Placed right next to the only other diners, again, might be my foible, it's okay when busy but bit awkward when just the two tables. £18 for wine, total £90 for the two priciest starters, two priciest mains plus a gin and tonic. Bread at start with olives and oil was basic. Must do better with food, nice decor and staff friendly. Unlikely to return or recommend.
It has been ages since I had a three course Sunday lunch because some restaurants tend to think that quantity is better than quality,to me Banks's Bistro have mastered the art of quality and portion size. Superb food! We were made to feel welcome from the time we arrived and all of us were impressed by the politeness and courtesy of each of the staff members who served us. They were attentive without being intrusive, thank you to each one, they made our visit very pleasurable.
On arrival there was a smell... This smell wasn't very nice and made me look to see the food hygiene rating which I couldn't see... We went for afternoon tea. We were given a small cup of coffee and after drinking it were told any extras would be charged for! Never had this at afternoon tea! Where's the pot? Food served on a slate plate and was presented nicely. Cakes didn't look home made and very small portions all together. After eating the dry beef sandwich I needed a drink and asked for an orange juice which was poured out of a carton a shops own brand from concentrate it was not nice at all, very strange taste! And texture! I returned it and wasn't charged for it atleast. Wonder how much they'd have charged for the dirt cheap juice though? ... I'd expect more from a bistro!!!! Fresh? Or atleast a good quality juice! We had no children with us thankfully because the highchair looked like it needed throwing away, black straps! Yak! Atmosphere was flat and generally didn't feel like a special event, which is what it was meant to be. I sadly wouldn't recommend here and the same was felt by the rest of the party.
This is truly a gem of Wolverhampton cuisine. The food was beautiful and well presented. I was expecting small portions but couldn't finish my 2 course meal. Even though they had an act on upstairs we were well catered for and the food was red hot. I'd recommend to anyone. Top top place
We went for afternoon tea which was bought for us as a gift and it was lovely. The food was lovely and very appealing on the platter. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be booking up to take friends. Highly recommended.
Staff are friendly and the food is very tasty. Could do with a few more options for starters on the Sunday menu but all meals were very enjoyable. This is our second visit and we will definatly be coming back again. Just make sure to ask for the blinds to be shut if you get a seat by the window around lunchtime.
A group of us Ladies again chose Banks Bistro for a night out as we always know that the food, service and entertainment will be spot on!!! The cost was £19.99 and for that we had a 2 course meal with entertainment from Meatloaf and Cher which certainly got the room rocking. The menu has a good choice and is always cooked to perfection and also has that little twist of surprise to it. The Staff are always attentive and happy to serve, nothing is too much trouble for them. Thanks to Glen and Staff yet again for the perfect night out and we will be seeing you again soon.
