Great museum to visit. Many exhibitions on local history throughout the building. Well presented. The Cafe only offers a very very small amount of drinks and food so don't expect much.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Very interesting and well laid out museum with lots to see that should interest everyone. Excellent Regimental museum from the old Duke of Wellington’s Regiment now the Yorkshire Regiment and some interesting exhibits relating to Anne Lister.Visited onWeekend
Great place to visit. We just went along to see some of the costumes from Gentleman Jack but there were so many more interesting exhibits, including Mr Darcy's famous white shirt from Pride & Prejudice which had made national news just 2 months earlier for selling at auction for £25k. Plus a section dedicated to the 18th century Cragg Vale Coiners including original dies used to stamp the counterfeit coins. The GJ section was a great little exhibition and included a video presentation from the creator, Tom Pye. Thoroughly recommend this place, well worth a visit.
The current Fashion Gallery display is great and includes Gentlemen Jack costumes amongst other amazing clothes. The Anne Lister diaries & letters exhibition is really fascinating with diaries and correspondence on display.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
First time visit but not the last! Great engaging museum with lots of interesting historical Halifax chronicles. Good cafe and free public parking. Lots of regular Definitely worth a return visit.
Love This Museum! It's great for the grandchildren. They completed the Detective Trail and were allowed encouraged! To try on outfits/hats. You've ensured the children don't think museums are old stuffy and boring. Well Done and Thank You Bankfield.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
What an amazing place! The range of exhibits is immense. We spent ages going round all the little rooms, each dealing with a different subject. The little cafe serves excellent tea and biscuits/cakes too. It deserves to be more widely known.
I visited yesterday it was lovely, very nice Anne Lister exhibition here just now till the end of April, you should visit it before it ends, didn't want to spoil your enjoyment by taking any photos of the exhibit, come and view it yourself, a great many items on display.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Amazing History of my old regiment definitely worth a visitVisited onWeekend
A stunning example of the wealth and opulence of the mill owners of Halifax. Marble staircases and columns, elaborate painted ceilings, and large entertainment areas. The displays cover a variety of different historical events from Halifax and not just the house.
