I lost my ATM card so I had to go to the O'Connell Street branch on a Friday for much-needed weekend cash. I know praising banks is not popular but the doorman was very polite and eager to help me find the relevant counter. The teller could tell I was a bit panicky and was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. I know that it was their job to do this but they acted reassuringly and I had enough cash to get me through the weekend.
I think this bank is friendly to foreigners, I went to this bank to open saving account, bank officer Mr Alexander very helpful and guidance me about that. Really Grateful about that.
A good Bank of Ireland the customer services is very nice
A joke of a branch. 4 ATMs and only 1 working at lunchtime on a Monday. This is not a once of event either. It is a regular occurrence.
They charge 2% markup to withdraw money from a USA account. The bad thing is they only give out €50 notes, no small bills.
You’d get pass around from staff to staff with no result whatsoever. Security staff are also rude.
Extremely bad service from one of the elderly male staff member. The ATM took my card in but then wouldn’t work. Stood there trying to press cancel for about 5min but it wouldn’t eject my card. Went in to ask for help. The man told me very rudely to just queue and I mentioned my card is stuck in the machine and it was urgent in case someone else takes the card or another person’s card gets taken in as well. He said too bad queue like everyone else and I told him if he can just block the machine and refused very rudely telling me I just have to wait when there was 5 ppl in the queue.
I will never bank with BOI anymore. I tried to call boi, i have to be held on the phone more than 30 minutes. And I dropped my documents to them at early this week for credit card application. And days latet when I called back to their relative department, they told me they never received anything from their colleagues. Disaster service
Been waiting for my card a whole month to replace it, ordered on the 9th March, rang after about ten days to tell them my card hasn't arrived was told it should have, so waited another day. Nothing. Rang again was told its cancelled and that it was never sent out, how disappointing keeping your loyal customer of 10 years without any card, not even a temporary card until the new one arrives. The banks close at 4pm, not everyone is able to come all the way to the bank to withdraw some cash, especially with what's happening to the world nowadays! Bring back the Bank of Ireland 365 card for everyone, why did you stop those cards?? they come handy in urgent situations to get cash from Bank of Ireland atms, the customer service is brilliant, just wish they valued their customers more instead you have to wait ages with no confirmed date. The new card arrived.. Great.. However no pin code, usually 99% of the time the pin code arrives before the card does, nobody can give me a direct answer when I will get it was told 5-7 working days etc, well as I waited for the first card 9th of March it didn't arrive, no pin code, nothing arrived for it, so I am very concerned how things are handled with my 2nd card replacement especially during the thing going around. Every user should have 2 Bank cards, one your Debit Card, the other is the Bank Of Ireland 365 card in urgent situations, not wait on the unknown until the new debit card arrives and not go to the cashiers upstairs to ask for money is so frustrating like. What's the point of having all my details in the system, account number, 365 digits when I can't be given my pin code?? In situations like this the best way is via email or text or any other way instead of wasting paper just to see 4 digits that could have been given any other way, like come on its not 2010. Hopefully they take my advice and bring back the Bank of Ireland 365 card to ALL users of this bank, I wouldn't wish an elderly person to experience this because the bank tells you 'Get a friend to transfer money into your account while you wait' No that's terrible advice, I should have access to my money at all times, so please bring back the 365 Card it's the least they can do. Thank u and will give an improved rating if you take my advice
Useless, incompetent, rude and lazy customer service.
