AWFUL! Bought my Hilux in just because I had run the batteries flat and needed a boost start. A 5 minute job. I got charged over £ 140 for a job I could do myself in less than an hour if I'd had my Hilux at home. Told me some #&£@ story about a banjo filter being blocked in the fuel system. I gritted my teeth at the cost, took the truck to a fuel station and then drove from Okehampton to Lapford, a mile from my destination and I ran out of fuel! Coasted to Lapford cross station and put yet more fuel in. I was stopped by another driver and was told that I was pouring fuel out on the ground when the car was running. I found a pipe not connected to the injection pump, unbelievable! Drove to Winkleigh and had to stop again as I was pouring fuel out again. The pipes for some reason had been refitted completely the wrong way around. I rang to complain and told them to come out and sort the problem out. The owner was not only rude but completely aggressive, he wanted me to drive the truck back to him. I refused as I can't afford the fuel! But not only that, what if I or someone else had an accident on the spilt fuel. He Started to tell me that I had an existing problem I was trying to blame him for! The underneath of the car was covered on £40of fuel! It was totally dry before visiting his place... And I had driven 500 miles this week alone! I am sure there would be some sort ofevidence prior to my visit. I only went there on recommendation by a guy in ats as I took the Hilux there first thinking they had a boost start. I won't be back again. Also, I pity any lady or elderly person who have a problem with thier work as I actually fear how they would be bullied if they complain. STAY AWAY!

Terrible!! Charged £170 to remove ONE broken wheel locking nut and put the spare wheel on. They said they broke a tool doing it so £20 was to compensate for that. As if its my fault that their tools aren't up to the job! They did the work without letting us know it was going to be so much and then I had no choice but to pay. Got the other THREE wheel nuts removed at a different garage for £30 total. My neighbour has told me he had the exact same experience there. Avoid!!!

They were open on a bank holiday monday for a start! Friendly, helpful, fixed my Volvo and didn't charge bank holiday rates to do so. Top notch

My Wife, 4 children and I had been on holiday in Cornwall and our cars brake light system failed. We were recovered to Balsdons but didn't arrive there until past midnight. Upon arrival we were greeted by Alan and Sandy who provided tea and coffee for the grown ups and squash for the kids. The car was fixed in less than an hour and we were able to continue our long journey home. I cannot speak highly enough of the guys at Balsdons. If we were local we would definately make them our regular Vehicle Service provider.
