A hidden gem along the seafront of Hove, don't be fooled by the quiet exterior of a residential block of flats. The restaurant is well-decorated and classy but not overwhelming. The modern background music is subtle enough to allow clear conversation and to add to the lovely atmosphere that has already been made. And that's all before getting to the food and service! The food was delicious, and well cooked for whichever preference of spice level you had. Indonesian food needs more credit! Our hostess was kind and efficient. My partner and I visited this restaurant before the pandemic and loved our experience then. After visiting a second time today, three years later, everything is still incredibly pleasant. Thank you!
We love the Bali Brasserie! Unique place with bands and karaoke. A place enjoyed by so many for decades. Sadly new neighbours have forced the events into the side room. Still a fantastic night. But so upset for the owner and family who have built up one of Hove's best loved nightspots and have to compromise because of a new owner above. Why do people move into a flat when they know the situation? Good luck and hope the venue will be allowed to continue as it was ..
What an absolute gem ! Had an amazing Christmas evening out with friends. Good amazing and so so tasty. Eat as much as you want from the Buffett choice. Entertainment kept the atmosphere going although they were told to turn the volume down from residents I. Flats above. why move there when you know what’s below Bit of a dance to end the evening , and staff joined in too. Amazing night. We will return.
I went for a karaoke night here with some mates. I didn't take part in the karaoke itself not in a million years but it was a really fun evening. Plenty of regulars there too, it seemed. The food was amazing. I'm coeliac no gluten and they were extremely accommodating. They let me know that they make everything from scratch and to order, so when I asked for GF, it was easy enough for them to do. Would definitely go again!

We visited The Walrus on a Saturday lunchtime. It is a very nicely set up pub, with lots of tucked away areas. Our light lunch was excellent and the service was very good. But the beer! I tried three different lagers in the search for one that was nicely served. The head on each and every one disappeared within seconds of serving and the result was three of the most uninteresting glasses of the flattest lagers you ever saw. It would help if The Walrus used brewers glasses, kept an eye on gas levels and cared for the drink beyond just getting in in the glass and away. So many pubs get this right. The Walrus is missing a trick by not getting it right and not seeming to care about it.
We stopped in Brighton for a day on our way home from France. Looking for gluten-free food for my wife, we stopped here. Great GF fish and chips and GF beers on tap. The fish was so good I’d order it for my self even though I’m not GF.
Had a fantastic meal in plush surroundings. Friendly, efficient service. A must visit for those in Hove/Brighton.Food: 5/5
Really love this place, the ambiance is nice, food is superb. the owner is very friendly too. chef is muslim the food is halal but not the beef we were told. would love to come again!
