Seeing the reviews, me and my partner where unsure whether this hungry horse would be enjoyable. But showing up and meeting the staff, having the food abs the experience was actually pretty nice than expected. Food was fast, alright to eat and the staff were really friendly. The burgers where good and had loads to them.Food: 4/5
Ordered a 11oz steak with a peppercorn sauce. It was a decent portion for a reasonable price of about £13. The menu ranges from 5- 15 on average, with deals on for each day of the week. Kid-friendliness: Wide selection on the kids menu and there is an outdoor play area that is within view of the seating area.
Called to ask if the staff could give us water for my friends dogs. The staff sorry didnt catch their names went above and beyond supplying a container of water for the dogs. The staff were a credit to the pub very friendly and caring. A children’s party was taking place at the time and the children looked like they were having lots of fun a great atmosphere. Many thanks to the staff for their kindness
Bar staff really helpful. Food delicious and really good value and server was also polite and helpful when asked for extra cutlery- we had the cheese/chicken combo to start and the curry & drink offer. All really niceFood: 5/5
This place have been fantastic and accommodating for us over Christmas. We asked for a booth in the corner as I have an autistic brother and they even sent pictures of the booth to be sure it would be suitable. We then went today Christmas day and the table was beautifully set up and the food was lovely, i had the veggie option and the rest of my family had the turkey dinner, all food was brought out perfectly timed. They checked to be sure everything was fine with us during the meal but didn't harass us about it and every one was so friendly. For sure going against next year.
Me and three other friends were kicked out of the pub by a female staff member as we were under the age of 18 we are all 16 despite being served by another member of staff who seemed to be completely fine with us eating there. We did not order any alcohol and had no intention to we had only gone to the pub for a few soft drinks, some food and a few games of pool. One of my friends had began to place money into the pool table for another game but we were then told by one of the staff members to not put any more money into the machine. As we had already placed money into the machine before being told not to, we asked the staff member if we could have our money back but she angrily declined and threatened to kick other customers out of the pub as well the pub was virtually empty. The staff member then proceeded to call us disgraceful and wouldn’t give us a chance to try and kindly reason with her. The staff member was a blonde “middle-aged” female wearing a red polo shirt. Please display a sign that states that under 18s are not permitted without an adult as situations like this may happen again.
The 2 staff members on the bar and serving food were really friendly and helpful. We had to wait an hour for our food which we weren't told when ordering, the pub wasn't busy. The child's meal was larger than the 3 adult meals we ordered. The burger meals were OK with around 10 French fries but the lasagne was half the size of a ready meal lasagne and burnt to a crisp. We've eaten in various Hungry Horse pubs in the past and they've always been decent, budget food but we won't be returning to this one.
the new manager and his staff welcomed us like we were old friends, Michelle and cath, couldn't do enough to help us. We will be back there many times more from now on. The atmosphere in there is excellent the food was perfect..and the whole experience was brilliant. Thanks to all at baker's dozen...Food: 5/5
Absolutely shocking never have i had this before food was stone cold not one meal came out together as they were waiting for chips to be cooked kids meal was missing the side and only had around 7 chips to each plate 10 mins after the 3rd meal came out the last meal arrive again freezing….kids plate was still dirty, Not a single table clear to sit down had to clean and move all out selves best of all there was more tables empty than there was full!! Also deserts were a joke waited over 20 mins for plain vanilla ice cream for it to come out melted!!! Disgusting won’t be coming back any time soon
If you're going shopping in the retail park this is a good place to take a break. It's handy for Dunelm, B & M and Matalan. If I've got a choice I'll go and sit in here and watch TV instead of walking endlessly around the shops as my wife really enjoys shopping but I don't really. Judging from the number of men in there I think other husbands have the same idea as there were quite a few others in there. They have a good selection of food on the menu and a reasonable range of beers.
