I have been a regular client of bad apple for a while now and to be honest, every single time they do a sterling job of my hair however, this time round I am absolutely shocked and devastated at the complete disaster they have left my hair in. I came in for a t section and to have my hair extensions pushed up, I wanted a lighter face frame and really within my wisdom I thought the hairdresser would know that I would want the top of my hair to match the extensions! I have now been left with two different colours and an absolute disaster which cost me almost £300!!!!!! Since my appointment I have also had three out of four tracks of extensions fall out, how is that acceptable! As I say before, never a bad work to bad apple but now I will not ever ever trust them. I am devastated and now need to pay another £250 to have it fixed elsewhere as they are closed on a Sunday and Monday. To be honest I wouldn’t trust them anyway. EDIT - no salon will touch my hair because of the terrible job they did. I’ve also since washed my hair and because the extensions have been cut they have dissolved so they are also ruined. I’m also led to believe the girl who did my hair isn’t actually qualified in extensions so why the hell are you letting someone not qualified do my hair, I also have blood blisters because of how badly they were fitted. I am well deserving of a full refund! Take note peeps, bad apple really mucked it up this time. EDIT - bad apple also didn’t have an electrical fault, they stopped paying their staff and their bills! Shocking behavior.
Trying to charge me £211 for an appointment I never booked! When I called weeks ago, they said they’d stop the charge but clearly never did as it’s been over a month and they’re still trying to take it! During that phone call they were rude and lied about the stylist I usually go to, who had just left them, even though I have messages that prove the opposite of what they said. Completely unprofessional and disgusting behaviour. UPDATE: I’ve learned that it’s not just me, they’re doing this to many existing clients and have been successful in stealing their money I’ve kept my money in a different account so they can’t get it I’ve reported the company to Action Fraud and just learned that the company is in Liquidation.
I had such a great experience having my hair cut by Ashley. The salon was understaffed due to illness and all the staff were so communicative, helpful and proactive in letting me know. I was given options to delay the appointment, and was given a free treatment and drinks to make up for the delay. Even the pineapple juice was lovely and served with ice and a garnish. Ashley was so lovely, even after such a busy day, she was a pleasure to be around. I love the way she cut my hair, she really understood what I wanted and made sure I was happy at every step. I have had so many compliments on my hair and I would definitely go back to Ashley next time. After the delay, the staff discounted the whole cut for me - I couldn't believe how good the service was! Definitely highly recommended.
I’m sad to write this review - I have been a bad apple customer since the beginning and their store in Solihull. So it’s hard to write a bad review! I did send an email expressing my dissatisfaction a week ago and it’s been ignored. Hence the review. I feel given the price I paid for the appointment, I haven’t got the results I would have expected. I had tint regrowth and balayage. However, you can still see some greys I’ve taken a photo of the most obvious one - this is not 9 days of growth this and others that I can see! have been missed. I feel the appointment was rushed especially as it got moved from 11.30 to 12pm. All previous colour appointments have taken longer than this one. I do not feel much of the balayage has shown up, aside from the bits around the face frame. It also doesn’t appear very well blended as a balayage is supposed to appear more natural looking. You can also see this in the photo that it is not the “ashy” result I was promised. Although I had a patch test, my hairline has been itching since which is concerning. The mirrors and lighting in the salon are obviously designed to show off the best results which I understand. I was really excited for the appointment as it was with a director who I used to go to over 6 years ago who had recently returned to the salon. Sadly, I even cancelled my appointment with my current hair dresser due to getting one with this person at bad apple. I wish I hadn’t. I feel the review is justified given the prices they charge - you’d expect completely faultless luxury results which I have not got. UPDATE - Recently the hairdresser who I had my appointment with contacted me on instagram explaining all the issues the owners had. I was shocked to receive an email from Bad Apple stating they were opening again and offering 25% off for all the inconvenience. I hope staff that were lured back have been paid this time and move on to better things
Had my hair colour and haircut done. Had to wait few weeks after the patch test to have hair colour done but also didn’t get the hair stylish who did my consultation. Very busy and expensive.. customer service could have been a bit better. They have a bar inside for drinks which is a plus point. Hair cut was good.
Only giving this one star because I can’t give it zero. Having visited Bad Apple since 2014 and building great relationships with a number of extremely talented individuals across a number of their salons, it’s shocking how they have been treated by the owners. To start, staff haven't been paid their salaries and pension contributions haven't been made. Then the owners closed the business and lied to customers about why. They couldn't even let customers know the salon was closed after some had travelled for miles for their appointments. And after all that, the owners have then had the audacity to use customers cards on file to charge a ‘no show’ fee after they turned up to lights off & doors closed. This is still happening more than a week after they were forced to close. The list goes on but is that really how you treat your loyal customers? To see the company has been liquidated alongside a game of resigning & reappointing directors… it looks like a game of trying to get as much money out of the business as possible… I would urge anyone to avoid a salon with these two at the helm. It’s the talented individuals that made your business what it was. We make our appointments with ‘them’. And I wish every single one of them the success they deserve now they are rid of House of Bad Apple / Bad Apple Hair / whatever name you decide to trade under tomorrow
I haven’t been to a salon for years so this really was quite the experience! The look and feel of the salon is fabulous… never been somewhere where there is an actual bar. All the products used great quality. Sunny cut my hair many years ago and I wanted to return after a few mishaps experienced recently from other stylists. I left feeling so happy. You can really tell when a professional cuts your hair as it looks and feels worlds apart. Sunny suggest an oil to use on my hair which was used on the day so I purchased whilst in the salon. Sunny also gave me some samples to treat my hair so I will make good use of them. Thank you to the team for showing me around also!
My partner had been using bad apple for years, across many branches that slowly closed. As others, she had booked an appointment that was abandoned. No text, call or anything. I went to the store to check it out on Monday. Someone came out and said we've had a power issue, to which I said no one told my partner. They replied "not everyone got the text" however, with them sitting inside - why not call the customers who've got appointments a few days ahead and let them know...considering you're not cutting hair. Nothing on any social media, and appointments still bookable even though they were closed. Terrible service, deserve the bad rep they have now received. UPDATE* Pay your rent, Electric bill and staff. It's come to my attention the owners have not paid their bills or staff, which is why they got cut off and shut out of this branch and Merry Hill branch. UPDATE** THEY HAVE NOW BEEN CLOSED BY BAILIFFS. DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING, CHECK BANK FOR ANY PAYMENTS AS THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE. IF YOU HAVE BEEN CHARGED, RAISE AS FRAUD CASE WITH YOUR BANK. GOOD RIDDANCE.
This was my first time I have went to the salon so I was quite nervous how I wanted my haircut, i waited 30 minutes for my haircut when my appointment was at 3:30 and I still never made an issue and was very understanding as I got called up I told her very politely and told her how I wanted my hair done but I could tell how her tone started getting agitated and throughout when I was telling her how I wanted my bangs and layers, I repeated saying I don’t want conditioner as I have very silky hair and she denied as she thought my hair was ‘frizzy’. I said nothing and let her carry on, when she was blowdrying my hair my friend could tell how they’re wasn’t layers how I told her I wanted so she got really agitated and said I’m getting late for another appointment, when I’ve waited 30 minutes for her???? We would understand but there were no customers waiting either. She also cut my bangs extremely short even when we showed her inspo picture and said I don’t want any short length on my bangs. And she just got this scissors and cut a section off with no care at all. I normally am not the type to complain but as this was my first experience I didn’t feel like I was getting understood and any reassurance. My bangs are a fringe now completely ruined my hair i specifically said I don’t want them to look like a fringe and I want to be able to tuck them behind my ears but even that was ignored.
Coleone was very friendly and welcoming. She shown confidence in what she was doing which put me at ease. She was professional and polite and made me feel like a new woman. She did my hair exactly how I imagined it, I’m so glad I found her! Can’t wait to come again!
