Just got myself a Cappuccino for £2.70 from this nice looking place. Compared to Costa coffee, which I try my best to avoid due to bad coffee taste, I find this tiny coffee cup to be very overpriced and of disappointingly bad taste, as if the same coffee load has been used twice. Definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.
Appears to have changed management and is not quite the same. What a great shame! Friendly staff, although small, there is plenty to tempt you and my goodness, their cakes are delicious! And when you're done, pop into their deli two doors down.

Best German bakery in south east England. Authentic German bread. Deli has good range of German groceries. Prices are ok. They also deliver.
Best bread, I am traveling there from Surrey so believe me it's worth to try. They have a deli too with a little cafe area, on weekends lovely deutsch frühstück braten wurst mit senf:p
Brilliant gem of a bakery. Not quite as good as what you would expect in Germany but still great. Spelt rolls are awesome, cakes are great and the Croissants are delicious.
Received my 1st order 1 loaf of bread, 2 packs of frozen spinach unfortunately the frozen stuff arrived defrosted and needed to be discarded. Reported the situation per e-mail to Backhaus but no peply. Will not shop there again.
Traditional German bakery with all you'd expect. Their deli next door is also well stocked and has a small cafe area.
Great place. We go most Sundays to stock up on bread and also sausages etc next door.
Get here early for German pretzels and other tasty treats. We often go to the deli for bavarian weisswurst and then come here
