I spent £2000 in their shop on a Edwardian Wardrobe, with built in chest-of- draws, French Regency Buffet sideboard and a large gilded mirror that must have come from a mansion. If I bought these at auction I would have had to pay a auction fee and deliver charges, not to mention a person bidding against me. The proprietor and his daughter are friendly and helpful.... This place is a gem and I am so happy I found it...
I was put at an inconvenience as my washing machine packed up suddenly and I did not want to pay high street prices and payed a visit to Back in the day Steve and his partner were very welcoming and helpful Steve said he had a nice Samsung Ecobubble coming in serviced by their engineer.After initial payment at a good price the machine was delivered on time installed and the old washing machine taken away.The washer is bigger, more modern and much better than my previous one. first class service highly recommend these guys one satisfied customer.
Back In The Day have been a big help to me. I have bought both a Fridge, and a Fridge Freezer from them. Both of these were in great condition and very reasonably priced. The guys there are always polite and the service has been great. Would recommend to anyone.
Great people My sister passed away last year and was living in Netherfield at the time. I live in Newcastle and had to travel back and forward to sort her house out. I went to see Steve and Sharna to ask for there help. They went out of their way to help me. They cleared, cleaned, repaired and sorted both house and garden. They kept in touch throughout the process and would do anything without my approval. I would 100% recommend Back In The Day to anyone. Steve, Sharna..... thank you so much.
I found this Steve guy very rude to deal with; he should go back to the car boot sales, or even carving cloths pegs. He certainly doesn't have any respect or even use an intellectual approach to his customers, when you overhear a conversation about his delivery services quote "I said I would deliver the Goddam thing, not carry the bugger inside for her" unquote who was an elderly person whom was a customer of his, and had already paid for her wares. As well blocking up the highway in Victoria road with second-hand pushbikes, and other chained up junk, He should smile at his own jokes, "we now do a free house clearing service" written on a board outside the place, just who does he think he is!!! Back in MY day we expected some cash, naaah! This guy does if for free????? I believe micky mouse wears a wrist watch, with Steve's face on it.
Worse customer service I have ever had. Felt like the people running this place were going to start a fight with me because I asked for a refund. Be careful in this shop the owners can flip over anything and then you’ll get all the abuse you could imagine! Reporting to trading standards
Avoid this place!!! Very very rude, went back for a refund for a pile of rubbish they sold me and all I got was abuse, both of them were vile to me whilst I had my kids with me, shouting abuse down the street to me!! Very professional, yes I got a refund as they know I was right but felt very intimidated by abuse from both the man and woman in the shop. Reported to trading standards
I RECENTLY WENT IN TO THE SECONDHAND SHOP IN NETHERFIELD. I'AM A SINGLE PARENT ON A LOW BUDGET SO WAS LOOKING FOR A FEW ITEMS OF FURNITURE FOR MY SONS BEDROOM AND FOUND MORE THAN WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED TOO. THE SHOP IS LIKE AN ALADDIN'S CAVE. I FOUND THE STAFF VERY POLITE AND EFFICIENT AND EVEN OFFERED A FREE LOCAL DELIVERY SERVICE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO THOSE ON A LOW BUDGET OR JUST LOOKING FOR A FEW HIDDEN TREASURES
Every time I walk in this place ,it's so interesting the items are mostly from back in the day.you get a blast from the past a great experience.
Bought a washing machine from here at a okay price. Broke a week later + Steve didn’t want to know about it! What a rip off. Wouldn’t shop here ever again
