Story

Established in 2002 a family owned business, we have rapidly grown to become one of the largest and respected nursery retailers in the East Midlands.

Based in Leicester we are now by far the biggest independent nursery retailer in the city, working from a 10 thousand square foot premises, displaying over 60 prams, 10 baby furniture room sets, 50 car seats, 20 cot/cotbeds and many other nursery items.

A huge part of our growth and success has come from our policy to serve each customer individually with fully trained staff in all areas, providing the best one to one service possible with honest and helpful advice for your new arrival.

We host most of the leading brands such as Bugaboo, Mamas and Papas, Boori, Kidsmill, Silvercross, Graco, Cosatto and many more… all under one roof making it easier for customers to buy everything they need from a baby bottle to the babies pram making us the one stop baby shop.


Our experience has taught us when customers place and order they generally want it now, and hence we carry over £750,000 worth of stock at any given time allowing us to dispatch most goods immediately.

Being parents ourselves, we here at baby planet understand the stress, which comes with having a baby and preparing for everything to be perfect for the little ones arrival. Very disappointed in this company. I ordered a childrens wardrobe in April. It still had not come by end of June. I called to see what was going on and they obviously just completely missed the order because they said they’ll send it the next day. But only half of it was shipped. Then they had to track down the other half. More emails back and forth wasting my time. I asked for a partial refund since the item took 3 months to come. All they offered was 10% off a future order. But that’s no use since I’ll never order from them again after the way they handled this hot mess of an order. Save your energy and order from somewhere else.
Purchased our baby furniture online which was due to be delivered in May, only to be told that it was out of stock with the manufacturer. It is now July and we are still waiting for the delivery with the baby’s arrival being imminent. They delivered the stroller set with no bassinet. We had to call them to enquire why it was missing and again were told it is out of stock. Very unreliable!
Would like to thank the shop for today as a grieving dad who's daughter passed away yesterday I not only found it had to get there but also go in to the shop upon entering broke down instantly with the owner and staff coming to my aid and the kind gesture will for ever be in mine and my families hearts God bless you all a true family caring shop
This is not a brand new product. It’s got some gum on the packaging. Sellotape already prized open, dirty, and someone else delivery note. Baby Product is not sealed, so I have no idea what someone else has previously done with it. Yet I paid full price for a brand new product. Like to see return to be paid for and quick refund. ASAP *In light of this customer service has been helpful, and happy to return the item.
There's a lot of bad reviews that relate to the online side of the business. I have dealt with the staff at this physical store in Leicester and can't fault anything. Really helpful and friendly staff. Received a good service from Safiya who spent quite a time showing us various items, explaining how to use them and giving advice on a variety of items. She also made it quite clear iCandy Peach 7 package we wanted would take around 5 weeks to be delivered which we were okay with. In store prices are different to online and I strongly do recommend shopping in store. Also, in store there's flexible payment options after putting down 25% deposit. Decent size on site car park. Quite tricky to notice the entrance though as you have to pull straight from a top of narrow T-junction. It's just on the right-hand side from the window shop.
went into the shop to discuss a stroller. initially the assistant was helpful, and took time to show us several options. When I ask if they price match, she advised I need to speak to the owner. After speaking to me for no more than 3-4 minutes he very rudely said "well just go buy it from elsewhere" and just walked off. couldn't believe the lack of professionalism for him, very disappointing, especially after travelling 30 minutes to visit the shop.
Easy to access the site , very helpful and professional staff who go above and beyond to help. Nothing to much trouble for staff, make you feel important and listened to. Although my dealings all done on line it was like being face to face , quick and polite replies to my queries personal replies from actual staff not a computed message or drop down answers . Product arrived well packed securely good quality item and we got what was advertised. I would deal with this firm again and recommend baby planet always
Do not order from these people. You won’t receive your order on time. I ordered a cot specifically to arrive the week I was off work. They didn’t send it for week and weeks and now DPD have returned the package as I’m not there to receive it. I’ve emailed baby planet but they have been slow responding and haven’t come back with anything useful. I’d save your money and time Update : they are not refunding my money even though they have stated numerous times that they will. I have contacted a relative who’s a solicitor to move forward with legal proceedings and will take them to a small claims court if necessary as I don’t want this happening to any others
Travel system arrived on date agreed and within the time scale agreed at the show. Unsure why there are so many negative reviews, they may have taken such feedback on board and improved things. Our first shipment included everything besides the bedsheet, romper and Llama plush. When I emailed, they dealt with the issue in a professional and friendly manner and shipped the missing items out which have just arrived after 3 days. Professional and friendly on the phone too when I originally arranged the delivery date. Thank you
We visited Baby Planet with little to no idea what we wanted to leave with! Just that we wanted a travel system, car seat and furniture. Donna spent over 2 hours with us showing us different brands of travel systems, how they work, let us practice and use multiple designs. She asked what our needs would be and pointed us in the right direction and we ended up with a travel system that we cannot wait to receive. We also had our eyes on some 3 piece nursery furniture sets and a next to me that she was more than happy to discuss with us. To say the least, Baby Planet and Donna made the entire daunting experience seem enjoyable and easy! I’ve recommended to all my pregnant friends to visit and will definitely visit again in the future for any baby needs!
