I asked this company round to quote for a boiler replacement because my central heating was not working. He took the cover off the boiler then went upstairs to poke around with the pump. He told me that the pump needed to be replaced which I knew already. He left without giving me a quote and charged £120 - his hourly rate of £100 + VAT. It was not an emergency at the time, but it became one because he left me with a leaking pump. What respectable plumber charges for a quote and leaves the system in a worse state?
