This is your typical train station. But I have had some issues with the staff at times. They can be cheeky and tell you anything to get you to leave them alone, even if that lie ends up costing you a lot of money. Now not all the staff are rude, but there are a lot. As for the trains, they usually run on time, but Ayr station is notoriously bad at bus transfers, often sending buses away before the relevant trains have even arrived. The on train staff are always friendly enough. But the biggest issue with this station is that who ever owns the hotel that the station is built into, has left it to become dilapidated and is now an eyesore considering how nice the building can be.

Ayr train station is very Central for commuting from Glasgow, is a great link serving the community of Ayrshire.
