I do love coming to Ayr station, it's kind of quirky with a hint of old school to it. The previous station is undergoing renovation but it's taking an age, but the replacement area suits just fine. The ticket machines could use an update there's only one of them but it's a clean and comfortable station, open plan, only one bridge. Canny enough.
Unfortunately I have to give this station a poor review. 75% of the time, the platforms are wrong either on the app, on the signs at the station, or both. As someone who is often traveling with children and a pram, this has resulted in missed trains, as you have to walk around the block to get to platform 4. It must be especially horrible for folks with mobility issues. This is not a one-off problem.
Decent station, though undergoing a lot of disruption at the moment due to work on the dilapidated adjacent hotel.
I live in ayr so for me it is just my place of residence but there is plenty to keep all ages amused.
Some really nice staff here. Place is under construction but still working which is a life saver
Staff are very helpful but works on the station have been going on way too long

Best thing about the place is all the trains take you away from here. No bad shyte house
The hotel is being renovated so there is construction work everywhere. There are staff to help you with luggage over the bridge, which is great. On the downside the toilets are out of action so I had to use a portaloo! Gross!
Great place good to see the station is getting upgraded
